Abscessed Gums?

Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone knew of anything to use for abscessed gums?

My dentist says I have periodontal gum disease, and that abscessing

was " expected " . He won't give me antibiotics, and I'm a diabetic, so

it keeps my sugar level up.

I have tried rinsing with salt water, but it doesn't help the

abscess, nor does it help the pain.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Cathy

1. Electric toothbrush - I know it will be hard, just start gentle. It

SAVED my teeth.

2. Colloidal silver

Why won't he give you antibiotics for abscesses? That's awful. Your

whole system must be sick.

Thanks! I am currently using the soniccare

toothbrush, and your right..it hurts, my gums bleed

everytime I brush.

I'll have to research Colloidal Silver, don't know

anything about it.

He won't give me antibiotics, because I'll get rid of

this abscess (usually by breaking it myself, when I

can't deal with the pain, and it stops me from

eating), but I get another one, in a different

location with 2-3 weeks.

I can't afford the cleaning bill, 900.00 per upper and

lower every three months, and he won't guarentee this

will stop the disease. My last check up, I only had

one cavity.

Personally, I think your dentist is a quack and you should shop around.

Cathy,

I had deep deep cleaning in all 4 quadrants, way below the gum line,

plus they put antibiotics way under the gum line (with a syringe, but

not to inject it, just to get it down in there) every three months, and

it cost maybe $120 for my whole mouth. That was 10 years ago, but

still. Not $900! Since you can't afford his treatment anyway, and it

doesn't cost anything to shop around, I say, go lookin!

I'm just appalled at how your whole entire body must be sickened by

this. YOU DESERVE BETTER. You go, girl, and get help. Get well!

Love,

Sal

Get a new dentist! And report your current one to the American Dental Association for mal-practice!

My dentist _always_ gives me anti-biotics. I have a dental problem like yours too!

The failure to give you the antibiotics for gum infections can do damage to your heart as well!

It seems to me the reason he's not giving them to you is that he is charging you $900 per visit (a LOT steep, I think)! He's not going to kill off the goose who's laying the golden egg, if you know what I mean!

As a matter of fact, my dentist won't even see me, unless I take antibiotics before having any work done! Those gum infections are serious!

In addition to finding a _good_ dentist - I recommend using a combination of _GOOD_ tea tree oil and cinnamon oi. Both are good for fighting infections. But ALSO check with your doctor who is monitoring your diabetes about the use of antibiotics. Don't want to get you in worse shape.

I believe that I would go see an MD or an Osteopath and tell him/her what you told us.
