Another friend of mine will be having surgery soon. I have heard that putting certain crystals under one's bed can not only speed healing but possibly reduce pain as well? But - I do highly recommend essential oil of Lavender for use as aromatherapy! When my son recently had surgery, I had him sniff the bottle of oil before he went in for the surgery, and again as soon as he came back to me from recovery. The hospital kept us overnight - as they always do, due to my son having had an extensive medical history as a premature infant. Every so often he would take a sniff of the lavender oil, say "ahhhh...." smile, then go back to sleep - or at least relax. When the doctor saw him for his follow-up appointment after the surgery, he told me how amazed he was at how well my son had done in the surgery itself - and how rapidly, and how well he had recovered. I have meant to tell the doctor that the only difference I was aware of, between my son's experience and the other children's was that we used the lavender oil!
