Guest guest
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to treat vertigo ? I seem to get this on the average about once every 5 to 6 years, so it has not really bothered me enough to see a doctor. When they do occur, it is very unpleasant, I feel the room spinning around me and I can barely stay out of bed for long. I also feel nauseaous, and sometimes bright lights bother me ( it sounds like migraine too, except for the room spinning part ). These episodes last for several hours, though none have lasted a full day, and as I have indicated, they occur very infrequently ( the last one being about 4 years ago ). There does not seem to be any specific trigger and the attacks just go away on their own. However, the last episode did seem to have been related to my blowing my nose really hard. I seem to remember reading somewhere that that could damamge the ear in someway ( and could possibly lead to vertigo ? ). Anyway, I would appreciate any input on this matter, particularly of less invasive ways of dealing with it, like aromatherapy, etc. Thank you. Guest guest
I'm so sorry you are going through this. Vertigo is a horrible thing. Have you been to an ear nose & throat doctor? You might get tested for Meniere's Disease. I have it and the symptoms are dizziness, vertigo, headache, balance problems, nausea and tinnitus. The attacks can come on without warning and seem to come and go as they please. It is not a fun thing to live with. As for alternative treatments, I would advise using anything that relaxes you. I drink chamomile tea, use lavender essential oils and bath salts. I noticed that since I started taking feverfew that my headaches have gotten a lot better. I have had ongoing problems with candida for years, and I think that the dizziness and balance woes worsen when my candida is out of control. You might want to think about doing a candida cleanse (there has been a lot of info on that on this list). Kind of long, but I hope you are able to get some resolution for your problem. Lisa PS - Ask your pharmacist about meclizine (antivert) for your dizziness. It's not natural, but it helps when the attacks are bad. , " samtighe02 <samtighe02> " <samtighe02> wrote: > Does anyone have any suggestions on how to treat vertigo ? Just a thought.
