Use the purest aloe gel you can find (at a health food store) and apply it twice a day. It makes your skin feel tacky when it dries, so you may want to put a light moisterizer over it. If anything, this will help with the redness.

Hope this helps,

Stacey

Mary,

there was a post this morning about tee tree oil.. It says it is good for acne.. Here is what it said .

Dab on pure or add to warm water and rinse. You can also add it to any facial wash you use.

Hope this helps.

Mary,

Just make sure you dilute tea tree oil before using it on your face, otherwise it will burn! I learned the hard way! It does work well, though, just moisten a cottenball with water and then add the oil.

You can also buy face washes that already add it, St. Ives makes a good (and cheap!) one. You may want to follow with the TTO on the cotten as a spot treatment.

Good Luck,

You won't like this. I had acne very bad, and once I started using a BUF puff (really a generic verision), it went away. Also, I was at my sister's for her wedding and she had very bad acne. I told her about the BUF puff and she agreed to try it, but she and my sister in law went to the store. My sister in law was a beautician, and she told my sister it wouldn't work, it was all about hormones and not to waste (my) money. So they didn't get it. I talked my sister into trying mine, and in three days her face was clear.

I don't think this is a magic cure, but I do think its essential. Also, be careful if you've not used these before, go lightly and build up to a normal scrub.

In Britain Body Shop do a Tea Tree Toner, which is good for the odd spot, so may work for acne.

Tea tree oil will help because acne basically is an infection in that pore. However, be very careful applying it directly to your face. It can actually do more damage to already damaged skin. With sensitive skin you can end up with really angry red spots. It's probably better to mix it with a carrier oil (even plain olive oil) or something like aloe. It's also astringent and can be too drying straight but if you mix a few drops in with your soap or face cleanser you get an anti-bacterial soap that will dry up some of the oil that is clogging your pores. The best advice for acne is to keep your face really clean without drying it out too much and use a fresh pillow case and wash cloth daily.
