Are you refering the wax from the ear while it is still in the ear, or the wax

from the

" ear " after the candling?

Hi ALL

I know some people dismiss ear candling but it has

been used for many years especially by the Hopi Tribes

whom I believe were renowned for healing. I know they

can help with wax but I would have said more for

congestion caused by sinus problems and cataarh than

actual wax. I have also read several reports where

they were used for glue ear in children saving an

operation. As with most alternate treatments it may

not be a " quick fix " and several treatments may be

necessary.

Best wishes

Chris

I perform Ear Candling in my practice. I have found White Egret to be the best quality supplier of candles and education. I use two barrier methods to ensure safety. (wax coated paper plate and flame resistant cloth). What do you charge in your practice for the procedure? I was charging $35 for one hour, which is a total of 4 candles, 2 in each ear. My training allows a max of 2 per ear per session. Anyway, I just raised my price to $48 and wonder if it's too high?!? I had to buy additional liability insurance to cover this procedure and the $35 would no longer cut it. My supplier told me that they had heard prices as low as $25 and as high as $85.

I know someone with " deformed " ear-canals -- they make a sharp turn, and

ever since he was a child, he's had to go to the doctor every few years

and have his ears scraped of wax, which he claims is really painful (I

believe it!). Does anybody think candling might work for this?

Thanks,

S.

I've used ear candles on our family a number of times. Candling works by creating a vacuum and pulling the wax up inside the hollow of the candle. One reason one would get a LOT of wax in their ears is due to allergies.

We use ear candles at least once a year!!! My husband and I both have bad

allergies and during wheat harvest (live in ks) it's even worse. I always

feel like it helps the sinuses too. Make sure you get the soy or beeswax

candles though. A Lot of people don't realize just how bad paraffin is even

to breathe the emissions! 11 documented toxins and doesn't even meet the

EPA guidelines for outdoor air. So go with the natural wax ear candles they

are as readily available as the paraffin but are usually a couple dollars

more.
