The best way to put them out is to have a little container with water nearby and just dunk the flame in the water, putting the flame out. Several of the websites that explain ear candling made a point of saying to dunk the candle in water to put out the flame so that's how I've always done it. NEVER, EVER attempt to blow out the candle!! My brother thought this " short cut " up by himself one day even though I had a container with water there. He thought it would be simpler to just blow out the candle. Ouch!!
