Guest guest
Dear Jo-- Please, do a bit of research before making the statement you made in this e-mail message. Creating unnecessary fear in people is never a good thing to do. You don't get " heavy metal contamination " from pharmaceutical-grade fish oil. That's one of the reasons it's called " pharmaceutical-grade. " It is being used in high dosages by numerous top-notch researchers and health professions around the world to help with numerous diseases and health problems. Second, small quantities (one tablespoon or less) of flaxseed oil are good, but as you start taking more than that (which many people would need to do to deal with certain diseases), the alpha linoic acid (ALA) in flaxseed oil tends to reduce the production of gamma linoic acid in the body, which is the building block of the " good eicosanoids " . What's more, fish oil provides eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) directly, and EPA is ten times more effective on a gram for gram basis than ALA for reducing " bad eicosanoids " . Fish oil, especially pharmaceutical grade, can be used in very high doses to help with numerous medical problems. Flaxseed oil cannot. A good book explaining all the research that is being done with pharmaceutical-grade fish oil is Dr. Barry Sears' new book " The Omega RX Zone " He also explains the meaning and importance of good and bad eicosanoids there. If you visit his website and look up flaxseed oil (which he recommends in small amounts), you will learn in more scientific detail why flaxseed oil cannot be substituted for pharmaceutical-grade fish oil in larger amounts (Sears recommends not taking more than one tablespoon of flaxseed oil a day, not nearly enough to deal with many of the health issues that fish oil is being used for today). With my best wishes for a happy New Year! Guest guest
I have a question. Is fish oil good for ulserative colitis. Can it be purchased in a health food store? Are there any dangers to taking it? Thank you, AlertThe psychopath seeks idealized victims to shame, humiliate and destroy.
