About Dr. Andrew Weil

Dr. Weil's discussion boards can be very interesting though I miss their old

discussion boards, from about 5 years back, now THOSE were really, really good.

 

But, alas, all good things must come to an end and they up-graded their

website and changed the format.

 

One caution: they censor the posts at Dr. Weil's not just to get rid of spam

but to also avoid anyone contradicting Dr. Weil. Example: I happen to use

ear candles and just love them but Dr. Weil doesn't believe in ear candles,

dismisses them as a waste of time and money so it's hard to post anything

about ear candles. I've tried posting about 4 different versions of my story

on ear candles, what they've done for me and my family, but the posts are

never approved.

 

I was not selling anything, not directing anyone to a website or naming the

manufacturer by name but they still wouldn't let me post anything nice about

ear candles. They finally let a lukewarm mention of ear candles get through

their censors but it's not the only example of where they keep you from

telling what you know.

 

Dr. Weil has a lot of good information but he's not the know-all, be-all of

alternative health. He's very closed minded about some subjects. (Geez,

don't get me started. I'm still annoyed with how he once dismissed all

people who get colonics as being just kinky sex perverts looking for a

thrill. It's obvious that he's never suffered from chronic constipation!)

 

Anyway, it's a good site (though not nearly as good as this list, IMHO),

they do patrol the discussion boards to avoid spam and overall it's worth

checking out.

Hi Anna,

That's not always true. I read his " tip of the day' or some such thing, and

he stated that reflexology is useless, except as a foot massage. That kind

of annoyed me, so I read the replies. One of them was a complaint from

someone saying he was contradicting himself, a couple years earlier he had

posted research that said it did work! And the letter writer even referenced

the article.

On the other hand, maybe the censers hadn't had their coffee yet and just

missed it, LOL! It does have some good info, but naturally not as good as

this list!
