Hello :-) I am new to the list... and a frequent sinus headache

sufferer... such to the point where my forhead gets swollen over my

eyebrows... I was wondering if anyone had any alternative tips for

sinus troubles... I have them so much that I don't like taking

medicine... thanks..

In my experience with sinus headaches I look to where the pain is

and massage it out. There are also pressure points. I have few

client that come in with sinus headaches and I work on massaging it

out and it is not comfortable but they leave my office with thier

sinuses draining and are able to get over it much quicker. I do

this for some of my other co-workers and the children I with. It is

great! I also use it on my kids. My daughter is very prone to

sinus issues and that seems to work better than all the cold meds in

the world! Also warm moist towel over the effected area to help

break it up seems to help and then alternate to cold for the pain if

needed. Boil some euculiptus (sp?) with water in a pan. It helps

clear things up too!

take care of you~

Yep. I agree with what you wrote below. The point

seems to be to get the sinuses to drain. I have also

found using a face humidifier to be very effective. I

have a unit. You put water in the little container at

the bottom and then the face thing sits on top and you

put your face into it. A pot of hot water with a

towel draped over your head would come close.

I forgot to say in my Intro that I managed a health

food store in the past too.

I have sinus problems quite a bit as well......so much that I've been

sent home from work (it's hard to get a Sargeant or Lieutenant to

send an officer home but they did it for me). I have tried using

claritin and the like (that stuff does work, but it you don't have

insurance it gets costly). I just found something out of the baby

aisle tho....while it's not completely alternative.....Gerber's

Menthol bath for babies. It has eucalyptus and such in it and it has

helped me and my son with our colds and sinus probs.....I give him a

bath in it and in turn I get a good whiff of it and it seems to

help. It's not very expensive and worth a shot. :-)

Where do you massage and how do you know it is helping? My husband

has horrible sinus headaches and I would like to help him. We have

used eucalyptic oil...but just put it on around his nose.

Thanks
