Laughter as medicine

I've heard that there's actual scientific basis for the old saying " laughter

is the best medicine. " It's something to do with how laughter makes you

breathe deeper than normal and even releases " good " chemicals in the body

and the really deep laughter jogs your lymphatic system a little, almost

like rebounding.

Regardless of whether there's scientific data to back it up or not, I

believe it. No doubt, laughter is good for the soul as well!

Oh this is so true. I don't care if there is scientific data or

not. I have been fighting mild depression. I decided this past week

that I was tired of feeling down and out. I played the most

ridiculous comedies I could find. I laughed until I started

crying!!! It was so wonderful!!! I married at 18 and can honestly

say it's my husbands sense of humor that has kept me going. We have

stayed together through 16 years of ups and terrible lows. It's all

because we were able to laugh!!! Like the wonderful Erma Bombeck

said " If you can't make it better, laugh at it!!!! "
