Guest guest
Thanks, these are great! Lucky suzann03 wrote: Somewhere, I recall being asked to share this. I have more than one favourite, so here goes. Pau d'arco/Taheebo tea applied to moles and simple skin cancers removes them Ginger tea for heart burn...also as a decongestant Echinacea at the onset of a cold, drops form, 30 drops ASAP, after 20 drop dosages, 5x daily for 3 days, 3x daily for another 2 days Zinc lozenges, same as above Gargling hourly with 5-6 drops iodine, same as above something to alkalinize: I use 4-5 drops Glycothymoline a few times daily and some fresh lemon juice, but my husband will even use 1 alka seltzer at the onset. Peppermint for gas. Chamomile also works and soothes. Cayenne for flu (I like to make warm tomato juice with 1/4 teaspoon and sip it) regular pharmacy bought Witch Hazel for hemmorrhoids is fantastic. finely cut 1/2 garlic clove in few thicknesses of gauze or cheesecloth, then attach with rubberband and trim excess material...about the size that fits in an ear. This has stopped me from having 3-4 earaches each winter. I teach preschool and kindergarten and was needing antibiotics for this before but don't get any if I use the garlic ASAP full-fledged earache and it's hurting badly and it's 3 AM: heat salt and put it in a sock. (Be careful it's not too hot and that the sock won't melt....wool is better)....at first it's very hot...so wrap in dish towel and hold against ear. Gradually, as it cools, have less layers of wrapping until after about 30-45 minutes you've got the sock directly on ear. I like to lie on it. My theory is that the very yang salt has a drawing effect on the very yin pus...An earache is basically a pimple in the ear, and once it draws to a head and bursts open the intense pain is gone....so the salt hastens this process, usually bringing relief. But I also will take something for the pain while I'm waiting. All that combined, and by the time the heat wears off, usually I'm sleeping and can wait to go see doctor the next day. Earaches are not something I take lightly and will take antibiotics if I have full-fledged infection.
