Thank you, as a matter of fact I'm not a big banana or potato fan myself. I have Ginko at home, just have to remember to take it...lol. I'll check out the archives as well.

At night while sleeping I stretch in my sleep and sometimes when I

do, I am awakened by the feeling of my calf muscles snapping. The

pain is horrible...first it's a strong tightening and burning feeling

then it throbs and spasms and all I can do is scream (loudly) and

wait for it to go away. The rest of the day my muscle hurts but by

the next day I'm fine. I've been trying not to stretch in my sleep

but sometimes I do it just before I wake up and realize I shouldn't

have. It happens in both legs. I'm 39 and I do not wear high heels

nor am I into any weird sports. I'm just a normal average desk worker

and I walk at lunchtime. Any ideas why this happens and how I can

prevent it? Could it be a vitamin deficientcy?

Thanks,

Kathy

I used to have this happen when I worked jobs that required long periods of standing; my Dr. said it's from lack of potassium, and told me to get Ginko Biloba tablets, they did help (when I remembered to take them!).

You can find potassium naturally in bananas and potatoes, though--I'm just not a big banana fan!

There are other posts about this in the archives too, we were just discussing it a few months ago, and some other members had other ideas as well.

Blessings to you and yours,

Ahreinya
