Guest guest
It's no wonder insects are repelled by a fabric softener, Humans have always energetically tested that Bounce, and other such fabric softeners, are toxic to them, so why wouldn't 'softeners' repel smaller life forms like ants and mosquitoes and destroy mildew! The sad part is that the way Fabric Softeners are used, like most of the chemicals you purposefully bring into your environment and gradually accumulate a build-up of their toxins in your body, you don't relate your health problems to them and, without your knowing it, you become saturated and addicted to them. If you don't understand chemical "addictions," especially to such heavy duty chemicals as are in fabric softeners and other chemicals that have to be heavily (and unnaturally) perfumed to mask their true nature and make them inoffensive, or make them attractive, to their users, risk a little more of your health (for the purpose of reprogramming your thought processes in favor of your long-term health) and, just this once, bury your face in a "softened" towel or sheet and then breath through it for a few minutes. Long-enough to get past the initial 'pleasant' smell and start feeling your body's reactions. When you're exposed to any life-threatening, toxic chemicals, one of the ways you'll know whether or not you're already at a dangerous "saturation" level is if you don't feel like running away. And, you're tipped off that you're probably already "addicted" to the chemical if you feel desirably attached (some even get euphoric). In part this comes from the cascade of body-chemistry changes that result from the adrenals and other organs being in a state of overload from your repeated exposures to heavy duty chemicals. Well, what less than unnatural changes in your body's chemistry would you expect, from such heavy duty chems when all it takes is a little exposure to the vapors they give off and even the texture of your lifeless, inert clothes are chemically altered so much that they actually feel different to touch. Sure, used in other ways, those chemicals can dissolve soap scum and dirty pots and pans can be scoured without scrubbing. Such products contain the Aikido Masters of Chemicals. (you don't know they've hit you or exactly what it is they hit you with until after you're down and out) A good rule of thumb, for those who prefer to enjoy an abundance of natural dynamic vitality in their life, is to avoid the use of any unnatural manmade thing that threatens to kill any life form. And, if a chemical doesn't kill them all on contact (and only drives them away), it's just that the chemical is not 'fast acting' in that arena. And, the little buggers haven't been exposed so much that they've overridden their programming to vamoose so that they can keep their life going for another day. Unfortunately, most people don't pay attention to such warning signs of dangerous chemical exposure anymore. (original message) Other Uses for Bounce Fabric Softener Sheets! (And all this time I've just been putting Bounce in the dryer) LOL....... (gotta wonder of Proctor & Gamble knows about this....(GRIN) (IF THEY DON'T, SEND THEM THE ADDITIONS [sOMEONE] PUT AT THE END THE LIST) 1. It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them.2. It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that don't get opened too often.3. Repels mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season.4. Eliminates static electricity from your television screen. Since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your television screen with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from resettling.5. Dissolve soap scum from shower doors. Clean with a sheet of Bounce.6. Freshen the air in your home. Place an individual sheet of Bounce in a drawer or hang in the closet.7. Prevent thread from tangling. Run a threaded needle through sheet of Bounce before beginning to sew.8. Prevent musty suitcases. Place an individual sheet of Bounce inside empty luggage before storing.9. Freshen the air in your car. Place a sheet of Bounce under the front seat.10. Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan. Put a sheet in a pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean. The anti-static agent apparently weakens the bond between the food.11. Eliminate odors in wastebaskets. Place a sheet of Bounce at the bottom of the wastebasket.12. Collect cat hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will magnetically attract all the loose hairs.13. Eliminate static electricity from Venetian blinds. Wipe the blinds with a sheet of Bounce to prevent dust from resettling.14. Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering. A used sheet of Bounce will collect sawdust like a tack cloth..15. Eliminate odors in dirty laundry. Place an individual sheet of Bounce at the bottom of a laundry bag or hamper.16. Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet of Bounce in your shoes or sneakers overnight.17. Golfers put a Bounce sheet in their back pocket to keep the bees away. (additions) 18. Add another environmental factor to your pending acquistion of chemically-induced cancer. 19. Cause your brain chemistry to male function. 20. Overload your liver and other organs of detoxification. 21. Cause premature aging. 22. Contribute to your demise. 23. - 100. And all of this so that you can help make the earth and life polluting chemical companies wealthy because, in the first place, people use the wrong cleaners for your clothes and other things, then, people don't want to be troubled with completely rinsing the residue off of them. And, because people no longer expose their living quarters and belongings to fresh air and sunshine for hours every day, and because most are such wusses that they think they 'need' the clothes and anything else that touches their body to feel softer than their skin. Guest guest
Barb, I use hot air in my dryer. cewiously now, since I don't wear clothes that are made with synthetics I usually have no static cling. [if there is a mix of materials that comes out if the dryer charged, simply touch them to a ground of some kind (water pipe, etc.) and they will discharge.] Otherwise, anything that I wash that has any synthetics in it doesn't get dried with the clothes I wear on my body. Guest guest
If people really understood the toxic effect that synthetics impart thru the skin, more people would go back to natural fabrics. Great post.
