Guest guest
Hi, my name is Carolyn. I have only been a member for a short time. I have just been lurking so far. I need to ask for some advice. My 7 year old son has had a phobia from the time I have potty trained him. He is afraid to wipe after a bowel movement. The teachers at his school and I have been working with him since kindergarden. Sometimes things get better for awhile, then it gets worse. We have tried everything in our power to help him. Sending wipes and gloves to school with him. He is just afraid to get anything on his hands. He will not play in anything that will stick on his hands. Obsessive compulsive, is what I think. The Psychiatrist classed him as ADHD, saying this was a symptom. I disagree. My son is an honor student, very well behaved, does not have an attention problem. A very good kid. I never have a problem with him. He is just afraid to wipe. Also, he still wets to bed, something I can live with though is could be part of the problem. I just dont know right now. WEll, the Dr. put him on Addreall. Not good. He went diserk. Litterly bouncing off the walls, would not eat for 2 days, (the child loves to eat), could not sleep. In two days he slept for 3 hours. Not a good reaction. I stopped the meds. What I need help with , I want to try a natural approach. I dont know where to start though. I have read alot of your posts here and feel comfortable asking for your opinions. If you have any suggestions I will definitly be open to then. I have studied aromatherapy, herbal, crystal healing, and just dont know where to start. I have used aromatherapy for years and crystal healing for about 2 years. But when it comes to this, I am at a loss. Thank you all in advance. Carolyn

Guest guest
Carolyn, This sounds like a sensory integration issue. I would look for a dev. ped or a SI therpist. You could also do a web search for " touching " issues. There are alot of SI web boards. I did Brain Gym (Edu-Kinesthetics http://www.braingym.org) w/ my high functioning, no medical problems Dandy Walker Syndrome dd, Kaiyah, age 5 for 4 yrs now. She got thru her SI issues very quickly that we didn't almost notice them. She still has the dev delays though due to an underdev. cerebellum. I do BG on myself & my other 3 children too. It is wonderful. I would also suggest EMT, an emotional trigger release therapy usually combined w/ chiro care. Also CST. Reiki also would balance the energies. If you are intuitive enough, you can let your child lead you to the answer, b/c be assured he has it. The clues may be unusual or hidden but if you look in the right realm, you will see it clearly. Just relax, trust & open your heart...... I have a list for natural/alernative therpies for special needs kids. There are alot of parents w/ kids w/ SI issues on the list. The address is in my signature line. · ´¨)) -:¦:- . .·´¨¨)) -:- ~Jolene~ Born2BHealed ((¸¸.· ..·´-:¦:- Heal me, O Lord, & I shall be healed~Jer 17:14 -:¦:- ((¸¸.´* ______________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Guest guest
A good clean healthy diet is always a plus in anyone's search for health. It sometimes takes a while to find the exactly right comgniation of foods for any given individual, but once you do a lot can be improved on a physical and mental level. Here is just a sampling of foods and food supplements that I have found to help me through all sorts of imbalances: avocado beets blue green algae carrots flax seed oil sunflower seeds raw brown rice whole wheat soybean oil wheat germ oil fish oil beans of all types yams spinach fish of all sorts amaranth grain minus these foods: sugar, white flour, potatoes, red meat, cheese. Prayers for healing! Bridgett , c_argabrite@h... wrote: > Hi, my name is Carolyn. I have only been a member for a short > time. I have just been lurking so far.
