Guest guest
Thank you Anna for that very common sense opinion. I whole-heartedly agree. I believe in love and peace - but if we let evil walk all over us then - they will. A child who misbehaves is not rewarded with a treat - why would we reward terrorists that have killed THOUSANDS? You can still love a child while you are scolding him. Leslie

But there is one thing that you must >understand... and that is you can not change a person overnight. You cannot change anyone except yourself. While I love the " love your enemy " concept, the appropriate way to " love your enemy " depends on the enemy. You cannot reason with the unreasonable and you cannot love the unloveable, the truly twisted. I've worked with Child Protective Services and seen horrible people who abused their children (and often other victims); I've worked with a battered women's shelter; I've worked with the mentally ill. I have seen the face of evil in my office a few times, real sociopaths, and I was afraid. Consequences don't matter to some of these people. Self-preservation doesn't matter. All some of them care about is being " right. " All some of them care about is destroying and hurting. When you are dealing with that kind of entity, you have to incapacitate them so they don't go pull everyone else out of balance or inflict more pain. It's not a vengance thing, it's simple common sense. If there's a rabid dog at my door, I DO NOT GO OUT TO PET IT!! I DO NOT FEED IT!!! Because, if I do, it's sure to bite and possibly kill me!! What do you do with rabid dogs? You kill them. Even if you love it because it's your pet! You can't take the chance that it will bite someone, in your household or another!! I have a pet that I love and have raised since puppyhood. I have one brother that I love dearly. I do love them but I still wouldn't pretend everything was fine and let them run amok hurting and killing people. I'd stop them. Using whatever means necessary to make sure they didn't hurt anyone again. And I sure hope that my family would do the same thing if I ever went nuts and killed innocent people!! We need to stop the rabid dog terrorists, whether it's with life sentences in jail or more severe punitive measures. Because if we have the means to stop them and don't stop them, then it's on our heads, too, next time they kill innocent people!! - Anna ****************************** Proud to be a gym rat?
