WHO CAN BE CALLED A CLASSICAL HOMEOPATH

By Dr. Leo Rebello, N.D., Ph.D., D.Sc., F.F.Hom

Chinchona bark was to Hahnemann, what the falling apple was to Newton

the swinging lamp to Galileo and the theory of relativity to Einstein.

It may be noted that the central thesis of the Organon is that the highest ideal of a cure is rapid, gentle and permanent restoration of the health by the complete removal and annihilation of the disease in the shortest, most reliable and least harmful way, on easily comprehensible principles.

Therefore a classical homeopath is an expert mixer of information with experience, uncanny observation, intuition and wisdom.

Here are some attributes of a Classical Homeopath :

1.. A homeopath who follows his Guru Samuel Hahnemann.

2.. Who takes complete case history and gives placebo if he needs more time

to work out the precise remedy with thorough repertorisation.

3.. Who has complete understanding about remedies (like hot or cold), what they are made of, potency, time and frequency of remedy, and the properroute of administration.

4.. Who does not mess up by relying too much on modern diagnostic methods,

but who individualises each case.

5.. Who works out on Constitutional remedies with thorough precision, but does not forget what Charak (or Hippocrates) said, namely, ‘let diet be your medicine’.

6.. Gives one dose and waits and watches and notes necessary indications and reactions, not forgetting Hering’s laws.

7.. Who does not play with high potencies and does not repeat them indiscriminately.

8.. Who gives intercurrent remedies, as and when necessary.

9.. Who gives follow up remedies to set the immunity back to normal, as healing is within.

10. Who has firm faith in his superior science and art and more importantly confidence in himself.

11. Who will not convey his adverse prognosis to the patient because that amounts to 'programming' or 'planting the negative thoughts' and is counter to healing.

12. Who throws all this out in an emergency and uses his own intuition and

gives remedies to patients with full faith and love to save the life and takes the

responsibility for the same in utmost good faith.

WHAT ARE THE QUALITIES OF THE TEACHERS OF HOMEOPATHY

By Dr. Leo Rebello, N.D., Ph.D., D.Sc., F.F.Hom

1.. He should be well informed, studious and hard working.

2.. Very good observer.

3.. A person with intuition, who listens to patients, patiently and encourages students to ask searching questions.

4.. Who does not teach as per the schedule, but is available to students and patients when required.

5.. Who will experiment when necessary.

6.. Who has an open mind and robust commonsense.

7.. Who is fluent in languages, teaching methodologies, expert at using necessary teaching aids.

8.. Who encourages discussion rather than just deliver lectures and run away and challenges students with creative questioning, varying hypotheses and differing diagnoses.

9.. Who enjoys his work and exchanges notes with other teachers and seeks advice from seniors to improve content. 10. In short, an egoless person with high IQ, EQ and SQ who is ready to innovate, experiment and always works for excellence.

Dear Members,Namaste,I have seen some homeopaths of the earlier generations of the mid twentieth century adopting the following methods too and as a beneficiary of homeopathy I shall be glad if the learned members tell me if these methods are still considered applicabe these days. 1)Unless there is an emergency, start the treatment by giving two consecutive doses of a polycrest to remove the possible ill-effects of wrong medication in the past2)Start treatment with higher potency and long interval in some chronic cases.3) Using Low potency and treatment for long periods such as up to six months in cases like Leucoderma and polio.4)Using Low potency and frequent doses in an emergency.5)Treatment with medicine like Aconite in an emergency and then to switch over to regular remedy subsequently.6)Advise the patients to exercise caution with food such as to avoid eating food items like raw onion and not to

drink coffee during the treatment. Further caution was advised in food in general.7)Giving liquid doses in some cases.8)Giving at least two to three doses of medicine even when the patient gets the relief with one dose.9)Treating with more than one remedy simultaneously but with interval such as by giving the medicine "A"in the morning and the medicine"B" in the evening of the same day and continuing in this way during the course of the tretment.10)Examining the pulse of the patient.Regards,skb"Dr. Leo Rebello" <leorebello wrote: Forum for International Homeopathy, USA, recently asked me to answer the following two questions : (a) who can be called a classical homoeopath(b) what are the qualities of the teachers for homoeopathy Accordingly, I have written as under and it is being sent to you for your information and comments, if any...
