Guest guest
Melaleuca [tea tree] Oil is ok to injest. Oil of Oregano is probably a better anti viral to get at the herpes, but it stings more than the tea tree. I would cut each with olive or grape seed oil if applying topicly. rusty pine <pine Friday, April 20, 2001 9:45 AM Re: tea tree oil >I forgot to ask you one more thing > >is it dangerous it entered to the mouth or if it touched the tongue and >penetrate the system > >it is indeed very small amounts but the concentration frightens me > > >thanks again >Anat
Guest guest
Agreed!! Tea tree oil is fabulous!! I use tea tree oil soap on my face. I absolutely love the tea tree oil douches that are available! I tend to be susceptible to yeast infections but tea tree oil prevents all that. I even love the smell. I just never realized that you could use it in your mouth! As they say, you can learn new something new every day if you know where to look! Sure, Lisa, I'd love to hear about your recipes!! - Anna At 02:22 AM 12/30/02 -0000, Lisa wrote: >There are some wonderful sites to learn about Tea Tree Oil and it's >uses , I keep it on hand for just about everything . Guest guest
Marsha here is the one I used for Head lice. here is the site I got it from....http://teatreeoil.net/__LICE.htm RECOMMENDED USE Massage a capful of liquid Nambucca Tea Tree Oil directly into the hair and scalp. Wrap the hair in a hot towel and allow to stand for approximately 10~ minutes. This will ensure that the vapors of the oil permeate all areas of the scalp. Follow by washing the hair in with your regular Shampoo mixed with Nambucca Tea Tree Oil. To prevent reinfestation, wash clothing and bedding very carefully. , " Marsha " <pmkoch@b...> wrote: > Lisa - Could you send the " recipe " for using tea tree oil for lice? > Thanks! > > > > Marsha in Oklahoma > > > > > > > Lisa <buzzsweetness> [buzzsweetness] > Sunday, December 29, 2002 8:22 PM > > Tea Tree Oil > > > > There are some wonderful sites to learn about Tea Tree Oil and it's > uses , I keep it on hand for just about everything . Guest guest
Hello all, I get tea tree oil at WalMart for about $5 a bottle. That is about the best price I have been able to find anywhere. My favorite tricks for staying lice free when they are going around is to just put several drops of tea tree in the shampoo, the conditioner, the bath water and the hair spray. Spray the kids hair just before they leave the house each morning. The hair spray itself will make the hair feel sticky to the lice, which they don't like at all, and the tea tree they like even less. This has worked for us very very well. It also worked on scabies. A friend and her entire family had them for months but we never got them because I was already doing this. It was summer time and tea tree in the bath and shampoo helps keep all sorts of bugs away and heals any bites or scratches that you might have anyway... You can also mix the tea tree and/or Neem with vinegar water and use it to spray down furniture and bedding. Works great for dropping wasps and bees in their tracks too! Neem is a super great thing for bugs (and skin and everything else in the world). You can take herbal tablets of it (works on everything like garlic does but doesn't make your breath stink!!) or get a cold pressed oil. The oil stinks in my opinion but it works on lice (and all bugs) like you would not believe! If you add several drops of it to your shampoo or body wash and leave it to set for a week or two, the smell seems to dissipate a bit so you don't notice it. But I'd rather deal with stinky bath products I know won't hurt me or give my kid brain damage anyway so the smell is no big deal to me.... lol... You can even get Neem at organic garden supply shops to spray on your garden instead of using chemical pesticides - works great! Hope this helps. Peace! Guest guest
Lisa, Your quite welcome. I forgot to mention that you can also spray their jackets and book bags with tea tree in water or vinegar too (don't think I'd use the hair spray for that). That way any that jump on them will die or jump off again pretty quick! I forgot to mention about the dry feet I used to have before finding out about tea tree. I just thought the skin on my toes was really dry but once I started putting tea tree in my bath it went away and started looking normal again. So I am guessing that I had a bit of a fungus on my toes and didn't realize it. Oh well, it's gone now! There's not much of anything that tea tree can't beat! And I love how it makes my skin and hair feel too... Guest guest
----- >>and it is a great conditioner and mosturerizer for the hair ...<< Actually most people find it very drying. It can be extremely harsh when put directly on the skin so it's usually best to apply it in a carrier oil or in a mixture that includes something soothing like aloe or calendula. I also put it in my shampoo and liquid soap but I do use conditioner afterwards. It's great for killing the nasties (bacterial, viral, or fungal) but it's not the greatest thing for the skin on it's own.Rebecca
Guest guest
I agree , when using the oil on any large areas of skin I mix with aloe ,espcially on my children ....as for the hair , maybe it is because of the shampoo we use , that when I started using the oil mixed with it for my youngest due to head lice , her hair is actually softer and shinier . , " RMB " <rmsb67@b...> wrote: > > ----- >>and it is a great conditioner and mosturerizer for the > hair ...<< > > Actually most people find it very drying. Guest guest
I wonder if you could even put a few drops of tea tree oil in the wash when you wash your bedding and things, just to make sure it kills everything? You could even use it when washing your combs and brushes. Is your daughter's class putting their coats and backpacks and things in garbage bags when they hang them up? My daughter came home and said she needs a garbage bag for her things that gets hung up in the coat room because someone in her class had head lice.
