Guest guest
Dear Navin I congratulate you for having raised this issue on the Shikshantar list. To tell you the fact, we have kept our children away from Colas and other forms of junk food. We ourselves keep away from such as a way of life. As a matter of fact, we have to face resistance even from teachers at school for adopting such life style. The logic that is given is as if we are discriminating against our children! Actually my daughters teacher went to the extent of openly declaring that she will influence us to give in so that we start sending bergers for packed breakfast! As if sending well prepared home-made food is a crime!! A young child never likes the way colas taste. The child gets into the habit of taking to colas when they observe their elders taking such drinks. We have kept ourselves away from taking colas and our children do not take it because they never liked the taste. There are other aspects too. One of these is the vaccination. We have collected statistics (from news reports in various national newspapers) to prove that polio vaccination is doing great harm to the health of children in India -- there was a recent report in Tehelka to the same effect. In fact many vaccinations which have been banned in US and Europe get dumped in the markets of Bharat and our children are made to suffer. The list of such vaccinations include -- Oral Polio vaccination, BCG vaccination etc. Statistical possibility of neural polio (virus attacks the spine) was covered by IndiaToday around seven years back. The other vaccinations too include harmful ingredients, like Mercury, which has been related to autism. I invite you to join the HealthyIndia list where we share information about general health in Bharat. Please let us know if you would like to participate. The traffic on this list is medium (around ten emails a day -- but mostly having very useful information). You always have the option to opt out if you find it not to your taste.
