Guest guest
Check out: http://www.rawfor30days.com/. This is a movie and it is about how 6 people who have been consuming the " typical " western diet with junk and fast foods and suffering from diabetes, obesity reverse them by going for raw, vegan diet for 30 days. And ofcourse, apart from the improvement in physical health (body), the diet improves the mental health (mind) as well. The movie hasn't been released and I will wait for it. Check out the 8 min trailer and needless to say, inspiring!

Guest guest
Thanks - its great - fantastic - I wonder what the GP really thought! When i went to a lecture given by Deepak Chopra for doctors they said they wouldn't teach their patients to meditate as they would all get better and then they wouldn't have any patients. Guest guest
Yes the movie is wonderful. Natural food materials, whether these be greens or fruits or any other items in their raw state, are known to heal. So also does the meditation. But they may not be cure all. So doctors are required to give their medicine in the deserving cases. Doctors are trained to cure by medicine. If doctors start giving advice to take greens only and not medicine then there will be the risk of getting their medical licence revoked. However some doctors give good advice at personal level. I remember that once in my childhood I had mild toothache and my doctor told me to gargle warm salt-water and if the pain persisted then only I was told to see him. Surprisingly the pain was gone after I gargled salt water. This being so the onus is not on the doctors alone to educate us on these health-care fundamentals. Does it not become incumbent on us to train ourselves and our near and dear ones and friends in these beneficial things.Jane MacRoss <highfield1 wrote: Thanks - its great - fantastic - I wonder what the GP really thought! Guest guest
Jane According to Ayurveda, eating raw is good for some foods, for pitta people and in pitta climates. It is okay for people with a lot of agni but most people do not have that and easier to digest foods like steamed veggies and kitcheree are better for the majority of people. Eating raw though is much better than the standard Western diet though. Guest guest
I was hoping to cheat and just do raw juice - I know its not quite as good being roughageless - but lettuce etc is beyond my dental capabilities ...... I do like very hot cooked food - managing just juice is just a matter of shifting the energy - after a while it is very good. Guest guest
But unfortunately as I have said many times before we have given away responsibility for our souls to the priest, our speed to the traffic lights and the limit signs and our health to the medical practitioner - to have people start to reclaim responsibility for their lives in any sphere is more frightening and more rewarding than anything else these days ......... but there are a lot of people and not many examples - in the poorer countries there is not such a problem with this as millions cannot afford to relinquish their health to the MD. Is this not so? Best, Jane - Sunil Bhattacharjya Thursday, September 13, 2007 1:15 AM Re: [HealthyIndia] Raw for 30 days...Movie Yes the movie is wonderful.
