Guest guest
Dear Coalition Members, Healthcare workers have been notified about this rally. But given the amount of interest this rally has generated in the media, it would be most beneficial to parents if there's a high turnout. Because the argument that medical professionals urge everyone to get vaccinated will be dispelled on Tuesday, in Albany, where legislators are assembled right now. (note: organizers are still looking for nurses, doctors and other healthcare workers to speak at the rally.) And once they succeed in mandating vaccines for healthcare workers, you will be next, if you work in restaurants, or other service jobs that come into contact with the public. Therefore, if you can come to the rally in Albany here is the information you will need: DATE: Tuesday, Sept. 29th (tomorrow) TIME: 10AM to 1PM PLACE: State Capitol Building (neat east steps) PARKING: STREET: Metered street parking on Central Ave, Washington Ave, and State Street. GARAGE: 111 Washington Ave, or 80 State Street (518-463-6920), or 54 Wellington Street (518-434-1660) CONTACT: vaccinechoice and if your questions are not answered in the message: call Lisa Rudley 917-414-9190 Note: if you are a healthcare worker in addition to a CFIC member, and you have not yet been contacted by CFIC coordinators Heather Walker or Lisa Rudley, then email them and let them know, at <lisarudley and <heathwalker36 WHETHER YOU CAN OR CANNOT COME TO THE RALLY, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING: From Lisa: We are joining forces with the health care worker of NY State to *STOP* the unprecedented move by NY state's Health Commissioner Richard Daines to * mandate* all Health Care workers get vaccinated with the seasonal and H1N1 (swine) flu vaccines or they get *FIRED*! Vaccine exemptions are not being accepted and there are very limited medical conditions that would exempt health care workers from this mandate. The FDA has *approved *the H1N1 (swine) flu vaccine. *Speakers, Gary Null, Dr. Mayer Eisenstein, John Gilmore, lawyers, doctors, nurses, health care workers, and parents will address the rally. (more speakers to be announced) * We need everyone’s support to call your legislators starting today (see below for details) and show your opposition to these new initiatives. We need as many people as possible to attend the rally in Albany on Tuesday, September 29th at 10AM (see attached for more details). This outcry for vaccine choice has gone mainstream! Thank you, Lisa (I am driving up to Albany for the rally and leaving at 7:30AM let me know if anyone needs a ride from Briarcliff Manor, NY) -------------------------- From the Autism Action Network: *Take Action!* *Today it's Healthcare Workers, Tomorrow it will be Everybody * In an unprecedented power grab, Richard Daines, the Commissioner of the New York State Department of Health has issued an order requiring all healthcare workers to get the seasonal flu shot by November 30 or face termination. Daines justifies this seizure of rights by making the bogus claim that there is a seasonal flu emergency in New York. In another unprecedented move, unlike all other vaccine mandates under New York law, no exemptions will be allowed for religious reasons. Please join the Autism Action Network in fighting this outrageous trampling of workers basic rights. Please click on the Take Action link to send email messages to your State Senator, your Assembly member, Richard Daines and his boss, Governor David Paterson, and demand that this illegal action stop immediately. Please start calling *TODAY* Governor Paterson and Commissioner Daines and demand that they cancel this illegal trampling of rights. *Today it is the healthcare workers; tomorrow it could be you and your children.* *Governor David Paterson, (518) 474-8390* *Commissioner Richard Daines, (518) 474-2011* A coalition of groups and individuals are organizing a rally for vaccine rights in Albany, September 29, 10 am, in the East Capitol Park. More details will follow as they develop. Daines has no authority to declare a non-existent public health emergency--according to the NYSDOH's own data there was only 68 confirmed cases of flu in the week ending on September 12 in a state of 19,500,000 people. And none of the laws cited by Daines in a document explaining his actions gives him the authority to override existing law by decree according to an analysis performed by attorneys working with the Autism Action Network. The Autism Action Network is reviewing options for legal action. Healthcare workers have always had the right to make their own vaccination choices, and according to the CDC 60% or more of all physicians and nurses choose not to get the seasonal flu shot. If this unsubstantiated pretext can be used for the seasonal flu then a similar claim could be made for any other diseases such as H1N1 flu and any other vaccine. New York is very familiar with Daines' contempt for our basic rights. He was the author of Assembly Bill 10942, " The Worst Vaccine Bill Ever " from two years ago that would have made it a crime for New York residents not to strictly follow the federal " recommended " vaccine schedule, and the law applied to babies, children and adults. We stopped him then. We can stop him now, but we need your support. Call Daines. Call the Governor. Send email you to your State Senator and Assembly member. And send this information to everyone you know who cares about health choice and vaccine rights. --------------- END OF FLU VACCINE RALLY INFO ------------------ ---------------- CFIC Political Action Resource Section - Keep this handy ---------------- PLEASE NOTE: If any members are able schedule a meeting with their own representatives, please let Gary Krasner know at least a few days in advance. Each year, more and more parents are joining autism support groups, and most of these groups have joined the loose assemblage of vaccination awareness groups around the nation. In addition to informed consent, more of this influx of parents concerned about vaccination also espouse an additional goal: To have safer vaccines, or to as the slogan goes, to have " greener " vaccines. But there's no commonly held agreement on what will make vaccines sufficiently safer. Proponents of " safer vaccines " haven't even proffered a meaningful safe threshold that would satisfy their " safety " demands. All we know is that they want fewer vaccines mandated for school; fewer doses in the vaccination recommended schedule, and few if any given to very young infants. They want dangerous chemicals removed from vaccines. They want quality safety studies performed on vaccines, presumably ones which measure the synergistic effects of vaccines administered at the same time. They want health authorities to recognize more types of illnesses and reactions as vaccine-induced, and that includes long-term reactions that exceed the arbitrary 36-hour window restriction. That is what comprises the vaccine " safety regime. " HOW TO SELL THE PHILOSOPHICAL WAIVER TO YOUR LEGISLATOR: Some politicians are more altruistic than others. But they all must operate with a degree of self-interest to remain incumbants. Thus, they must perform a personal risk assessment on the consequences from supporting or opposing an issue. Thus, in addition to advocating against the efficacy of vaccination, please say the following to your state legislator: 1. You are currently being placed on the hot seat. Every year drug companies and doctors pressure you to mandate more vaccines. They assure you that epidemics will occur without them, despite the absence of epidemics in Europe, Australia, and Canada where there are no government mandates. You cave into these dire predictions because you don't possess the medical expertise to rebut their slanted views. Then parents---who are forced to subject their children to the greater risks from more vaccine doses---accuse you of selling out to the vested interests (drug companies) and those with conflicts of interest (doctors getting paid by drug companies). 2. You are about to reap a tsunami of political backlash from voters. It may not arrive until the CDC revises the autism stats to an incidence level of 1 in 100 kids. Or 1 in 50. But it will come sooner than you think. And when it does, it will take with it all legislators who rubber stamped vaccine mandates year after year. 3. Most parents in NYS prefer a philosophical waiver. It appeals to parents who don't wish to subject themselves to intrussive and degrading religious tribunals by school administrators. It appeals to parents who reject the one-size-fits-all, broad-based, recommended vaccination schedule, in favor of the clinical judgment of their pediatricians, whose function is to represent the health interests of the individual child. By contrast, the rationale for vaccination schedules and state mandates are supposedly to maintain the health of the public at large. In other words, the philosophical waiver removes the unpopular, controversial issues of, " who is religious enough to qualify for exemption " , and " what contraindications are sufficient to designate a child as susceptible to vaccine injury. " The philosophical waiver is the only exemption provision that sidesteps the fiscal costs of a regime to screen exemption applications, because it's the only type of waiver that's self-executing upon submission. THEREFORE, Mr. legislator, in order to get out from under the current squeeze between drug companies and parents forced to vaccinate, you must relieve the pressure. There are only two ways to do that. Either rescind PHL 2164/5 to end vaccine mandates, or else provide parents in NYS what parents in 18 other states have----a self-executing, unrestricted right to withhold consent----a philosophical waiver. Co-sponsoring this bill will also immunize you from the coming tsunami of voter dissatisfaction over the epidemic of neurological, immunological, and chronic illnesses that are being linked to vaccination. You'll be able to claim that you had provided parents with the right to refuse vaccination. Champions of freedom of choice will escape the wrath of the voters and remain in office. Two Questions That Must Always Be Asked of Your Legislator: 1. If 'informed consent' does not mean the right to withhold consent, then what does it mean? 2. Should parents have the right to decide which vaccines are given to their own children? Whenever you're able to attend a protest rally in Albany, it's always a good idea to make an appointment with legislators to meet with them while you're there. Even if you can only meet with their staff. And do not arrive at the Capitol with placards and signs mounted on sticks. Do not use sticks for your signs, because you won't get past security with them.
