Avoiding a Vaccination-Public Health Boondoggle

Hi Health Activists,

The motivation for the current media hype scaring people into supporting a

series of contracts to Vaccine Manufacturers and Public Health

Infrastructure to administer vaccines is clear.

The recent economic stimulus bill also contained a decrease in funding for

bioterrorism and vaccine development in an economy move. The Vaccine

Manufacturers and Public Health Groups, were forced to show that they were

" essential services " and could not be cut. The Public Relations divisions of the

Center for Disease Control and local Public Health Departments went into

high gear to frighten the public. The result is nothing more than a " jobs

program for research scientists and public health departments " .

After all if Banks and Automobile companies can get bailouts, why not drug

companies and public health scientists and doctors.

The only way to stop it is to call your Congessmember _www.house.gov_

and two United States Senators _www.senate.gov_ (http://www.senate.gov)

and ask them not to fund new vaccines and infrastructure to administer

vaccines.

Some local governments are getting into the act too and may have to be

contacted,

The article below mentions programs in Massachusetts and Georgia are

examples.

Only when legislators hear from the public will they think, there is

support for more critical evaluation of the real data supposedly warranting

these preparations.

authority to issue quarantines. " Anyone violating a quarantine order can be

punished by a _$250,000 fine_

out what made the 1918 flu pandemic so deadly -- a group of three genes that

lets the virus invade the lungs and cause pneumonia. They mixed samples of

the 1918 influenza strain with modern seasonal flu viruses to find the

three genes and said their study might help in the development of new flu

drugs. The discovery, published in Tuesday's issue of the Proceedings of the

National Academy of Sciences, could also point to mutations that might turn

ordinary flu into a dangerous pandemic strain. Most flu experts agree that

a pandemic of influenza will almost certainly strike again. No one knows w

hen [the US unleashes it] or what strain it will be but one big suspect now

is the H5N1 avian influenza virus.

_Huge New Biodefense Lab Is Dedicated at Fort Detrick_

laboratory in Frederick yesterday, moving toward the facility's opening

despite questions raised about the risks of deadly pathogens to be studied

there.

When the National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center at Fort

Detrick is fully operational in March, about 150 scientists in the lab will

be tasked with 'protecting the country' from a bioterrorist attack... About

40,000 square feet will be taken up by Biosafety Level 3 labs, which

handle agents such as anthrax. In addition, 10,000 will be dedicated to the

Level 4 labs, which handle agents such as the Ebola virus.
