Guest guest
Hi Jay, Just wanted to share what experience I have with you. I suffered from acne for twenty years and tried many different conventional treatments including antibiotics which made me very ill. Eventually I tried homeopathy which cured me in about six months and now my skin is great. I was so impressed by this amazing therapy that I am now training to be a homeopath. Homeopathy is an individualised therapy so it is not just a case of taking one remedy for all cases of acne. I can think of a few things which might help you though. Stress and acne are quite closely related and you may find your acne improving if you take some herbal remedies to reduce the stress. I can suggest Avena Sativa or Borage tinctures which work on the adrenal glands to reduce stress. Licorice can also help in the same way. From a more general point of view, please stay away from the harsh acne medications which are sold commercially for acne they only make the symptoms worse. Drink lots of water and try supplementing your diet with the omega 3 oils which calm the system and balance out hormones which can lead to acne. A balanced diet is vital (even though most dermatologists deny this is true). Try to eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and probiotics in live yoghurt. Stay away from highly refined and sugary foods. Magnesium sulphate (or Epsom salts) may also help - they encourage the body to expel the toxins which can cause acne - you can add this to the bath and have a good soak but don't do this before a big date as it can actually cause spots to appear in the short term as it clears the rubbish out of your skin. Do not use things which block the pores of ths skin ( including commercial anti-perspirants) they just cause the body to use the acne as a way to remove toxicity. Anyway, hope some of this is of use.
