Hello Everyone!

 

 

 

We were just informed that this latest Mercury bill banning Thimerosal in

the Flu Vaccine ...HF 56...will be ardently opposed by the Iowa Department of

Health, and we feel we have a lot of educating to do with the legislators

below before funnel time (when all bills have to be through committee). We

could really use some help in calling these legislators below and letting them

know that you support this bill and why. Please, please...this will take about

10 minutes to call all four legislators (and probably leave them messages).

Short and to the point would be great. Just let them know you support Bill

number HF56

The flu vaccine contains 25mcg of Thimerosal which is 250 times more toxic

than what we consider toxic waste...and this is being given to pregnant women,

children and the elderly! Every toxicologist we talk to says Thimerosal is

toxic. The MSDS from Merck themselves says that Thimerosal is toxic and if

my figures are right, the amount in a flu shot is 25,000 times the " safe "

level for fish!

Just the information at _www.nomercury.org_ (http://www.nomercury.org/)

will blow away just about any arugment that we should leave Thimerosal in the

vaccines.

We are also working on a day at the capital next week and would like to know

who out there might be able to join us starting at 10am or anytime during

the day. I am thinking of Tuesday or Wednesday...but need to verify that

with my hubby. If you have the flexibility to join us during the day we would

love to hear from you.

We need to see as many of these Representatives as we can and if we have our

children there...all the better. So you don't have to worry about leaving

them at home. We need some of you Chiropractors and Doctors and Nurses and

other health professionals to join us down there too! They need to hear from

you.

If you do have any kind of health official initials behind your name, be

sure to let them know when you call. You can email them at the addresses

below. Also, feel free to call them at home on the weekends. This can

sometimes

be the best time to reach them.

You could write something to the effect of

 

Dear Representative Smith,

 

We are hoping to get an answer to the question as to why the Health

Department has not already moved towards ordering and using Thimerosal Free Flu

Vaccines. In July 1999: The FDA and EPA jointly advised the vaccine

manufacturers

to remove thimerosal (mercury) preservatives from childhood vaccines as a

precautionary measure after a congressionally mandated review of mercury in

products revealed cumulative exposures from childhood vaccines that exceeded

EPA

guidelines.

 

In 2004 Iowa was the first state to ban Thimerosal in childhood vaccines

except " trace amounts. " At that time the Flu vaccine was exempt because of

concerns over availablity. So here we are in 2009, five years later, and the

Iowa Department of Health seems no closer to giving us Thimerosal Free flu

vaccines....thus creating a need for the current HF 56 Bill.

 

We are also asking that you support HF 56 banning Thimerosal in Flu vaccines

for all Iowans. Most flu vaccines contain 25mcg of Thimerosal. That amount

is 250 times more toxic that what we consider toxic waste! That is quite

concerning to us as I am sure it is to you too.
