PUBLIC INTERESTâ€

Support the Resolution to Protect Women's Access to BHRT!

U.S. House Representatives Mike Ross (D-Ark.) and Jo Ann Emerson (R-Mo.)

introduced a bipartisan Sense of the Congress resolution yesterday to counter

the efforts of the FDA and Wyeth against compounded bio-identical hormones that

contain estriol. H. Con. Res. 342 raises serious concern over the recent

move by FDA to ban the use of estriol, and asks for its reversal. Reps. Ross

and

Emerson were joined by fellow Representatives: Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.),

Michael Burgess (R-Texas), John Carter (R-Texas), Sam Farr (D-Calif.) and

Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.).

This is a HUGE step in the right direction!

The resolution also calls on the need of FDA to “respect the

physician-patient relationship†and recognizes that doctors, not the FDA, are

in the best

position to “determine which medications are appropriate for their

patients.â€

It also points out that the “FDA has acknowledged that it is unaware of any

adverse events†associated with the use of estriol over the past three
