Guest guest
Walmart has switched it store brand milk to rBGH free milk. This may mark the end of rBGH in milk. It is a message I relay with mixed feelings. The overall effect of WalMart as the dominant retailer in America has been very costly to the livelihoods of many one-time middle class citizens. But on the other hand, we do live in a huge market based society. Unfortunately there is truth to the saying " the market giveth and the market taketh away " I was surprised to see that Walmart is the largest seller of Organic foods. The pressure of enough consumers have been felt at the policy level of corporate decisionmaking, it took 14 years from the introduction and approval of rBGH in milk in February 1994. It finally worked and Monsanto may now at least realize that what started as the first consumer crop of Genetically Engineered foods has turned to failure. I feel vindicated on the issue of food safety, but I feel a loss of innocence I once had. arnold _http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2008/04/10/could-wal-mart- cause-the-end-of-growth-hormones-in-milk.aspx_ (http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2008/04/10/could-wal-mart-ca\ use-the-end-of-growth-hormone s-in-milk.aspx) **************It's Tax Time!
