Guest guest
Interestingly, hyperbaric oxygen therapy is one of the " alternative " treatments for those with autism. By placing a person in a chamber with an above normal air pressure with or without added oxygen, the person receives more oxygen in their blood. Do an internet search for " HBOT " . Dr. Neubrander at http://www.drneubrander.com/pageHBOT.html is one of the leading researchers in this field. Apparently the blood becomes supersaturated with oxygen during this treatment. Vendors sell chambers for home use. , " divya4753 " <divya4753 wrote: > > > Aids, Cancer Cured by Hyper-Oxygenation > 01/01/2008 @ 4Winds10.com > > In 1988 this article started a mini revolution in the alternative > health care community because of its information on hydrogen peroxide > and ozone. Guest guest
I found this information on the American Cancer Society's website. I'm not necessarily refuting the previous post but the study was from 1988 and there has been new progressions in health care. Just some points to consider http://www.cancer.org/docroot/ETO/content/ETO_5_3X_Oxygen_Therapy.asp?sitearea=E\ TO Oxygen Therapy Other common name(s): oxygenation therapy, hyperoxygenation, bio-oxidative therapy, oxidative therapy, ozone therapy, autohemotherapy, hydrogen peroxide therapy, oxidology, oxymedicine, germanium sesquioxide Scientific/medical name(s): O3 (ozone), H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) Description Oxygen therapy (as used in alternative treatments) uses one or more chemicals that are supposed to release oxygen after they are put into the body. The extra oxygen is believed to increase the body's ability to destroy disease-causing cells. Two of the most common compounds used in oxygen therapy are ozone (a chemically active form of oxygen) and hydrogen peroxide. This type of treatment with oxygen-releasing substances is different from the common medical uses of oxygen, which involve increasing the amount of oxygen in inhaled air. It is also different from hyperbaric oxygen, which involves the use of pressurized oxygen (see Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy). Overview Available scientific evidence does not support claims that putting oxygen-releasing chemicals into a person's body, as described here, is effective in treating cancer. It may even be dangerous. There have been reports of patient deaths from this method. How is it promoted for use? Alternative types oxygen therapy, as described above, are promoted as alternative treatments for dozens of diseases, including certain cancers, asthma, emphysema, AIDS, arthritis, heart and vascular diseases, multiple sclerosis, and Alzheimer's disease. Some supporters claim that cancer cells thrive in low-oxygen environments. They believe adding oxygen to the body creates an oxygen-rich condition in which cancer cells cannot survive. Supporters of this type of treatment claim that it increases the efficiency of all cells in the body and increases energy, promotes the production of antioxidants, and enhances the immune system. Available scientific evidence does not support these claims. What does it involve? Ozone gas may be mixed with air or liquids and introduced into the body. It may be given under pressure into the rectum, vagina, or other body opening, or injected into a muscle or under the skin. In an approach called autohemotherapy, some practitioners use a special device to force ozone into a pint of blood that has been drawn from the patient. The blood is then returned to the patient's body. Hydrogen peroxide is taken by mouth or injected into a vein. Some practitioners promote it for use rectally, vaginally, as a nasal spray, and as eardrops. It is often used to soak affected parts of the body. The stronger solutions (about 35%) recommended by alternative medicine practitioners are sold in some health food stores. Rarely, oxygen therapy compounds are injected into muscles. The frequency of treatments varies widely, from 3 times a day over several weeks, to once a week for several months. What is the history behind it? The history of putting oxygen-releasing substances into the body follows several tracks. Interest in ozone dates back to the mid-1800s in Germany, where it was claimed to purify blood. During World War I, doctors used ozone to treat wounds, trench foot, and the effects of poison gas. In the 1920s, ozone and hydrogen peroxide were used experimentally to treat the flu. One of the earliest accounts of the scientific study of hydrogen peroxide was a short article by I.N. Love, MD, in 1888 in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Dr. Love reported that hydrogen peroxide was useful in treating diseases such as scarlet fever, diphtheria, cancer of the uterus, and pneumonia. In 1920, hydrogen peroxide injections were used to treat patients during an epidemic of viral pneumonia. In 1919, William F. Koch, MD, a Detroit physician, proposed that cancer was caused by a single toxin, and that the disease could be prevented or reversed by removing that toxin. To achieve this goal, Dr. Koch claimed he had developed glyoxylide, an oxygen compound that could be injected into patients' muscles. Dr. Koch and his followers claimed that glyoxylide forced cancer cells to absorb oxygen, which helped to rid the body of the cancer-causing toxin. In 1942, the FDA charged Dr. Koch with making false claims about glyoxylide. The courts upheld the accusations, and in 1963 the California Cancer Advisory Council reported that glyoxylide therapy had " no value in the diagnosis, treatment, alleviation, or cure of cancer. " Later, researchers were unable to confirm that glyoxylide ever existed. During the 1930s, Otto Warburg, MD, awarded the Nobel Prize in 1931 for his research on respiratory enzymes, discovered that cancer cells have a lower-than-normal respiration rate compared to normal cells. He reasoned that cancer cells thrived in a low-oxygen environment and that increased oxygen levels would harm and even kill them. Many of the beliefs held by oxygen therapy practitioners are still based on Dr. Warburg's theories concerning cancer, even though they have since been discredited. Much of the more recent use of hydrogen peroxide can be traced to Father Richard Wilhelm, a retired high school teacher and former Army chaplain. He claimed to have discovered the healing potential of hydrogen peroxide through acquaintance with a doctor who headed the Mayo Clinic's division of experimental bacteriology, Edward Carl Rosenow, MD. Wilhelm promoted drinking hydrogen peroxide for a host of human ailments. What is the evidence? Available scientific evidence does not support claims that increasing oxygen levels in the body will harm or kill cancer cells. According to Dr. Stephen Barrett, who writes about health fraud, a researcher from the Dominican Republic claimed that his clinic had used ozone gas to cure 13 people with cancer. An investigative news group later learned that 2 of the patients had died of cancer, 3 couldn't be found, 2 refused to be interviewed, 3 were alive but still had cancer, and in 3 cases it wasn't clear that the patients had cancer to begin with. Some researchers have studied hydrogen peroxide as an addition to radiation therapy. Although some patients appeared to benefit, many did not. Some lab tests have looked at using hydrogen peroxide along with certain chemotherapy drugs against cancer cells, but it is still too early to tell if this will be of any benefit. According to a review article in CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians, attempts to treat patients with hydrogen peroxide injections directly into solid tumors or into the blood system have generally been ineffective. In one study, mice were injected with glucose oxidase (which breaks down into hydrogen peroxide) bound to microspheres. This system caused hydrogen peroxide to be released directly at the tumor site. Mice that were treated in this way lived longer than those that were not. The researchers in this study concluded that more studies were needed in which hydrogen peroxide is used with other anti-tumor drugs. The medical literature contains several accounts of patient deaths attributed directly to putting oxygen-releasing substances into the body. Are there any possible problems or complications? Hydrogen peroxide can be harmful if swallowed, especially the concentrated solutions sold in some health food stores. " Food grade " peroxide is very concentrated. It contains 35% hydrogen peroxide, which is over 10 times stronger than the 3% peroxide that is approved for use on the skin. Food grade hydrogen peroxide is approved by the FDA to clean food surfaces, and to use for certain bleaching tasks in food production. The FDA requires that any small amount of peroxide that might remain in food be broken down into oxygen and water before the food reaches the consumer. Drinking food grade hydrogen peroxide can cause vomiting, severe burns of the throat and stomach, and even death. If it gets in the eyes, it can damage the corneas and cause blindness. Direct skin contact with food grade hydrogen peroxide can cause blistering or burns, and breathing its vapors can also be harmful. Hydrogen peroxide injections can have dangerous side effects. High blood levels of hydrogen peroxide can create oxygen bubbles that block blood flow and cause gangrene and death. Destruction of blood cells has also been reported after intravenous injection of hydrogen peroxide. Some people can also have serious allergic reactions to hydrogen peroxide. A 1993 review article also found some research evidence that too much oxygen in the body's tissues may damage genetic material (chromosomes) and promote abnormal (neoplastic) growth. Women who are pregnant or breast-feeding should not use this method, as its possible effects on a fetus are unknown. Relying on this type of treatment alone, and avoiding or delaying conventional medical care, may have serious health consequences. Guest guest
I have had hydrogen iv's and only wish I had the money for more. They were/are extremely invigorating and beneficial. The first couple of times you may experience die off of yeast, etc. but after that you will have real energy, not like speed or caffiene, but real inside out energy. Unless you have experienced profound fatigue, you can not appreciate the value of it. Jan
Guest guest
Hi Everyone! H2O2 was used, intravenously, by PWAs, a small group in California. They were using needles only, if I recall correctly, and not IV drip bags. This is prior to antiretrovirals. The self experimenters experiened premature aging. Now the dose may well have been the cause. Guerilla research is as old as AIDS, and PWAs continue, no doubt. I was involved with a small Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation study, here in Vancouver. UBIT pre-dates antibiotics. Dr. P. found that a small amount of H2O2 in a brief drip, during treatment, was more effective than without. Treatment is about 8 minutes, for UBIT. Groups of HCV patients are self treating with UBIT, so an IV bag drip of H2O2 in solution, should be possible, at low cost. I remember Dr. P. commenting about Vitamin C drip costing only $15 to do, and I've paid over $100 at a naturopathic clinic. If IV H2O2 is helpful, and one knows the ideal concentration in water solution, a lower cost application is possible. What PWAs can afford ideal treatment @ $100 each, several times a week? Vitamin C is just injected into a bag of what is probably just saline water. H2O2 can probably be similarly injected. Eventually, Dr. P. retired, and a small group continued, having access to a machine. I used to joke, that we could probably get a Junkie to do the most effective vein puncture for us (they were often close at hand). A nurse offered to show us---on himself---and train us, if we wanted. So.....you treatment activists out there, self or group therapy is good PWA tradition. Get informed well, and share your experiences. Steve , " patriot1023 " <patriot1023 wrote: > > I have had hydrogen iv's and only wish I had the money for more. Guest guest
Was the premature aging caused by the oxidization? I was told that this can be offset by taking anti-oxidants. Although perhaps it's best to wait and take the antioxidants separately, after the H202 has worn off, to maximize the benefit? I only use H202 orally for infections and viruses. Usually I only use it for cleaning. Susan , " Steve " <fmn wrote: > > Hi Everyone! H2O2 was used, intravenously, by PWAs, a small group in > California.
