Seeking deeper meaning behind afflictions

Hello ....

 

i am seeking links for information on " the meaning behind disease,

illness and afflictions. "

 

Long ago i read a book that listed everything from the common cold to

arm breaks to cancer ... and it gave spiritual/emotional reasons

behind these things. Does anyone know of such resources on the net, or

books that list these things? Extensive net searches have produced few

results so far.
