Guest guest
Dear Rajinder, Sai Ram. Where are you located? In India or abroad? Do you have access to big bookshops or do you want to buy from online bookstores like www.amazon.com? It is possible to learn about alternative forms of healing without books too by joining various Health Groups. For example, you can join Reiki_Path to learn about Reiki. Similarly, you can join talkbach to learn about Bach Flowers. You could join the introductory course at www.hpathy.com to learn about homeopathy. The same website has a good number of fairly low-priced books on homeopathy. Foreign books are very good and are also expensive. I will be able to give you definite recommendations when I know your location, budget preferences etc. With best wishes, Swamy holistic-health , " Rajinder Gulbag " <rajinder_gulbag> wrote: > > Dear sirs, > > Can anyone mention some books which can be used > to get more information on the alternative form of > medicine. > > Thanking you. > > Rajinder >

Guest guest
Dear Rajinder, Sai Ram. Yes, later I checked your profile and realised that you are in India. I feel that there is no single book or encyclopedia of alternative health systems. But there are individual books on Acupressure, Acupuncture, Aromatherapy, Ayurveda, Bach Flower Therapy, Color Therapy, Crystal Healing, Dreaming, EFT, Feng Shui (yes, it affects health too), Healing Touch, Homeopathy, Light Therapy, Mantra therapy, Medical Astrology, Meditation, Music Therapy, NLP, Prayer Therapy, Quantum Touch, Reflexology, Reiki, Tissue Remedies and so many more. It is better to start with a few of the more well-known systems and then branch out to the others. Prayer is the ultimate healing technique! Since you mentioned that you often visit Mumbai, explore the foot-paths for books. Railway Station book-stalls are the next best. I am sure you will find good books. How do you know a book is good? Simple. When you take it in hand and start flipping through the pages, do you feel attracted to it? Listen to your heart. Are you looking to help yourself or do you want to help someone else? What are the short-term, medium term and long term goals? Are you in the medical profession? Or in some other line? Do you want to make a living out of it? Or do you want to simply help others freely? All these factors play an important role in the book selection process. For example, over the years, I have accumulated a fairly good library and am hoping to collect some more books before I retire (a little less than 3 years from now). After retirement, I hope to set up a library for the benefit of others who can't afford to buy books. Pl. see the past messages (archives) of the group, where you will find some posts recommending some books on Ayurveda, Reiki etc. They all are available from www.amazon.com but then shipping is an expensive affair. So, dear Rajinder, pl. feel free to use the information and if needed, pl. feel free to ask for further help. I am sure you will get the best advice from many other members of this group.
