Hello,

My name is Scott Medine and I am a massage therapist in Baton Rouge

Louisiana. I am reaching out to you guys in hopes that we can find

chairs to be donated and practitioners to work behind them as

volunteers. Robin has asked me to get the word out and this is my

effort to do so. Anyone having any massage chairs that can be used

or know of any not in use that could be donated please let me or

Robin know.

Robin has set up a place to work on the EMS workers and police dept

who are helping with the evacuees from Hurricane Katrina. This is

the email she sent to me. We need chairs for the therapist who dont

own one, like myself, and therapist to donate thier time and skills.

Anyone in the area willing to help please contact Robin.I can be

contacted at smedine.

HERE IS ROBIN'S EMAIL

After MUCH work to find just the RIGHT contact to get us into a

background facility to work on caregivers and behind the scenes

workers like the police and EMS crews, we finally are in!!!

So, if you want to help please contact me ASAP at either my land

line: 225-930-0067 or my cell:

225-907-7277.

I am striving to form a strong team of seasoned therapists to work

on these overloaded, traumatized people who have been on duty non-

stop for the past 5 or 6 days now.

I have reports of grown men breaking down in tears from the load of

this work, and women just working thru crying. They really really

really need us now, like never before.

You don't have to have a massage chair, just show up with your hands

and your hearts. We are working to gather a few extra chairs, and

reflexology chairs.

What we need are therapists who A. want to help, even if it isn't

a " paid gig " , and B. therapists who aren't afraid to work with

traumatized caregivers, and C. can work at least one of the two

shifts requested for as long as needed.

Each shift will work for two hours, maybe three, depending on the

volume. Shifts are at 6:30AM and at 6:30 PM, which will set us up

for shift change at 7 for the workers.

We will be working out of an air-conditioned trailer with bathroom

facilities available in the main building at 704 Mayflower

downtown. This facility is SAFE. This is the EMS headquarters

which is next to the Police headquarters. The trailer is a training

building closest to the school.

I would like teams of at bare minimum three people each to do these

shifts. The times seem to work out well for those of us still able

to work in our regular practices, so there should be very little

overlap or sacrifice that anyone would need to make (if they so

chose).

I am going to start with this evening, Sunday, September 4, at

6:30. If you would like to join me, just show up. Otherwise call

or email me regarding your interest and availability at the numbers

I listed above. These are Baton Rouge numbers.

Please contact any therapists you know who may be interested,

qualified, and available for this work and give them my contact

info.... PLEASE. I don't have everyone's information, so your help

to extend this communication tree is essential.

I also want to extend coordinated teams outward from Baton Rouge

into the surrounding communities. We have over 5000 licensed

massage therapists in this state. I want to coordinate folks in

their own communities as well to assist. If you can help with this,

please let me know.

Thank you and I look forward to what ever level of healing we can

facilitate for our community, and for each other.

Love and safety to you all

Robin C. Myers, LMT, d.Hom (LA #0599)
