Big barking dog problem

Let me ask everyone's advice. A woman I know lost the lease on her rental,

the owner sold the house and the new owners weren't interested in

renting, they plan to move in themselves.

The only place she could find to rent was this apartment that doesn't allow

dogs and, truthfully, her dogs are too big for an apartment anyway. So she

was faced with trying to find them homes and couldn't so she was thinking

she'd have to take them to the pound.

Realistically, they'd be put to sleep right away if taken to the pound. The

local shelter puts them down unless they're young dogs. These are not. So I

offered to let them stay <temporarily> at my place until she could find them

new homes.

Now she's not even looking for new homes but, instead, tells me that she

thinks she will have a new job soon and, as soon as she does, she will rent

a house with a yard and take them back. (She is just month-to-month in this

apartment she now has so she won't have to break a lease.)

It was not what I had in mind when I said they could temporarily stay here,

I thought she was trying to find them new homes and I just didn't want

healthy dogs put to sleep for no good reason.

On the other hand, she is looking for work and might find something soon so

I said " OK but no more than 2 months. " <sigh>

Well, before bringing them back she never mentioned to me that they're

barkers! Now, I'm afraid that my neighbors will complain soon. So if anyone

knows anything I can give the dogs to calm them down so they don't bark so

much, please let me know! I've heard that some homeopathic remedies can calm

dogs down and, if any of you know of any, I'd appreciate the information.

Hello Anna,

In your act of kindness, it sounds as though you feel you have been

taken for granted. Perhaps this is a reoccuring theme in your life?

First, and foremost, I might suggest supporting your friend (and

yourself) with prayers and visualizations, along with thoughts and

words, that she finds an ideal job and a home suitable for large

dogs - NOW!

Homeopathics are great for animals, and they respond exceptionally

well to Bach Flower Remedies. Rescue Remedy would be calming for

them. Also, Walnut to ease the transition into a new environment,

which can be difficult for animals.

You would likely benefit from these as well Anna. Willow might be of

help to you too.

All the best,

Michelle
