Today you're going to eat the way you keep telling yourself you need to eat! You're going to treat your body and for one day give it nothing but the best. Pure fuel, baby! You'll feel so good by the end of the day you'll have no desire to pick up the bad habits again tomorrow. Sometimes your body just needs a reminder of how good it feels to eat well. Nothing says "I Love You" like a satisfied system!Remember, when your alter-ego drops in to try and sabotage you, just tell it to take a hike- then go take one yourself! Just tell it "I'm not allowed. Today is Healthy Eating Day". Put a sign up on the refrigerator and the cabinets (and secret `stash' drawers if you have them) "Healthy Eating Day- Only the Best for Me!"So treat yourself today to real living! You can get fancy with a variety of exotic fruits and veggies or just keep it simple, whole and healthy. Some of my simple favorites are a bowl of hot oatmeal with fresh-frozen huckleberries (sweetened with sucanat and honey) for breakfast, fresh carrot/apple juice for a mid-morning snack, veggie stir fry over basmati brown rice for lunch, a fruit smoothie for after school snack (you never have to sweeten them, especially if you use bananas or pineapple) and a huge salad with a variety of greens, veggies, nuts, seeds and eggs for dinner (no croutons needed and homemade healthy dressing a must!)
