Linda Food Cravings:Identify the type of craving you are having: sugar, starch, fat or meat. · Sugar cravings: o Increase your lean protein portion and frequency of intake o Increase your dose of magnesium and chromium o Decrease your intake of artificial sweeteners and/or caffeine o Add St. John's Wort or 5 HTP o Add Kava Kava (this may reduce cortisol levels) o Add Gymnema Sylvestre concentrate drops (this desensitizes your sweet tooth) · Starch cravings: o Starch is simply sugar in disguise; therefore, follow the directions above o Occasionally take out an entire meal's carbohydrate allotment and take in a small portion of what you crave o "There are no forbidden foods" and consciously giving yourself permission can often unburden you · Fat cravings: o Concentrate on good quality essential fats o Take in small portions of nuts o Take in goodly portions of sardines, wild salmon, and flax seed oil · Meat cravings: o Take in more of it o Increase your portion sizes and frequency of meals protein portion Food Allergies: · Be aware of the most common food allergies in the American diet -- Tomatoes, corn, dairy, wheat, eggs, sugar, soy, chocolate · Keep a careful dietary journal to help identify intake and symptom relationship · You may need to consult a specialist ASK ME HOW TO PUT YOUR BODY BACK IN BALANCE! This is a great topic for our members to consider adding their experiences on. Please - let's hear from others!
