Hi Everyone!

My name is Ginny. I live in Berkeley, CA. I am very interested in alternative healing and have been for over 30 years. I have no formal training, but I have been a manager of a health food store and have cured myself of severe diverticulitis and IBS. I also manage to keep my blood sugar problems in check and lead an active life.

I love to learn about herbs and natural healing and to pass information on to those who want it. I was a database programmer for many years, but had to quit that line of work three years ago, when I was hit by IBS etc. I decided not to go the medical route, which only offered removal of a section of my intestines, as "treatment". Using nutrition and herbs, I have healed almost completely, but still have some blood sugar symptoms. I have discovered herbs that help me control my blood sugar and of course, eating a very healthy diet is essential as well. I recently started watching my carbohydrates more and find that I feel so much better, when I cut back on them. I AM loosing some weight too! I eat fish, veggies, falafals, soy milk, tofu, soba noodles, brown rice, sushi and other oriental dishes and lots of apples and macadamia nuts for snacks.

It is nice to live in Berkeley where there are so many ethnic stores. Because of the University here, Berkeley is a real melting pot. I can get ayurvedic herbs here in bulk, very reasonably priced. I also get Japanese foods and chinese herbs and lots more. Maybe I could be of help in this way to some of you on the list, who wish to purchase some herbs that you can't find in your area.

I look forward to participating in this group and to meeting you all.

Ginny
