Turmeric or " Haldi " (as in Hindi) is a medicinal plant used in India for thousands of years. Lot of scientific study had been done about the medicinal property of turmeric. It acts as an antiseptic and can be used to treat arthritis due to its anti -inflammatory property. It also relieves digestive problems like ulcers, dysentry. Lowers Serum Cholestrol and prevents formation of internal blood clots. Improves Blood Circulation and prevents heart disease or stroke. Though turmeric is added to dishes in daily cooking, but a nice way of taking it daily is to use one teaspoon of turmeric powder in a cup of warm milk every day. For treating wounds, make a paste and apply twice a day. Boswellia Caterii (Common Name : Salai Guggul) is the Indian tree from which frankincense is distilled. It has long held a place as both a symbol of spirituality and an effective medicinal. It appears to act as both an anti-inflammatory and an analgesic. Boswellia appears to be beneficial in the treatment of pain, stiffness, and joint mobility related to rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Boswellia, when taken in a dose of 550 mg three times daily, appears to help people with ulcerative colitis. In the ancient Ayurvedic medical texts of India, the gummy exudate from boswellia is grouped with other gum resins and referred to collectively as guggals. Historically, the guggals were recommended for a variety of conditions including arthritis, diarrhea, dysentery, pulmonary disease, and ringworm. Boswellia Capsules are available in health stores. Lemon juice is a good source of vitamin C. Take 1/2 lime and 1 tsp of honey in hot water. Honey helps to soothe the sore throat thus relieve irritant cough. 2. Take 1 tbsp of fresh gooseberry juice with 1/2 tsp ginger juice added to it is also found to be very effective. This can be taken regularly to prevent recurrence of cold. Gooseberry has got the highest vitamin C. 3. Steam inhalation with few eucalyptus oil drops will help to relieve a stuffed nose. This can be done two to three times a day. 4. Garlic and onion soup is an excellent remedy for cold. Garlic have anti viral and anti bacterial properties. 5. A tablespoon of ajwain (Asafoetida) crushed in the palms and tied up in a thin kerchief and can be used for inhalation to relieve nasal block. This can be used for small children also. This tied bundle can be kept on the pillow while sleeping and is found very effective. 6. Ginger is other excellent remedy for cold and cough. Ginger tea is good for fever, cough and cold. Dried ginger powder 1/2 tsp, 2-3 black pepper cones, 2-3 cloves, 2-3 cardamom, 1/2 tsp Cummins seeds should be boiled and add little tea leaves and sugar or honey and can be had hot. It gives good relief of the throat pain, cold and cough. It can be taken two to three times in a day. Recipe This Fortnight : Khichdi (Easy to make Complete Nutritious Meal) Ingredients: 1 cup green Gram 1/2 - 3/4 cup rice 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 tbsp ghee (Clarified Butter) Salt to taste, 6-7 cups water Method: Wash both dal and rice together. Soak for an hour in salted water. Add half the turmeric. Pressure cook dal with half the water. It gets done in about 4 whistles. Transfer to a large saucepan, add remaining water, turmeric, ghee and add more salt if required. Cook while stirring, till the khichidi is thick and well mixed. Mash a little if desired. Maybe you have an answer Answer: There are indeed many herbs which can make help you regain body weight and composure. First of all, I would recommend some sort of a light workout plan which you should develop and start exercising and workout every day. Drink lots of water.
