Guest guest
My 5 yr old girl does not eat well. She asks for food every two hours but eats very little. When forced she says she is full and sometimes even throws up when forced. But, then usually in less than 2 hrs she starts complaining that she is hungry again. Any suggestions on what the underlying problem might be and what we could do to cure it. Regards, Aashish
Guest guest
My daughter was like that till she got into her teen years. I just made sure she could have some fruits or veggies as snacks when she wanted, then she ate at mealtimes too. I think some people just can't eat much at once, as long as she is healthy otherwise I wouldn't worry. However, I am just a mother, not a vaidya. With some kids though, it is as much about a power struggle as anything and they just want to be in control of how much and when. She could be growing quickly too and need more. So many kids get eating disorders that I tend to think you can let them tell you when they are full. Some of the old grandmas I know say to just feed them at meals, then let them cry in between, but I don't think that is necessary. Darla _______ > My 5 yr old girl does not eat well. Guest guest
It is very probable that there might be a congenital malformation in your daughter s digestive tract, and the capacity of her stomach is very much diminished, so she needs smaller and more frequent meals. You should take her to a gastroenterologist and at least check with X rays. Anyway don t ever force her to eat more than she is able to. As long as she is asking for many meals she is probably getting enough food in order to have a normal development. Dr Andreea Dragomirescu ____________________ My 5 yr old girl does not eat well. Guest guest
hi, u all, one who is feeling appetite n not able to take adequate amount of food, it can be understood acc. to ayurvedic principles. see urge for food ie appetite is known as Bubhuksha shakti n capability to have food in respect to amount is Abhyavaran Shakti. Normally one who is of Vatika or Paittika Prakriti, has less abhyvaran shakti. i think your daughter should be lean n thin, having thin hairs n not dark black, she should be very active n quick, can't sit cool n calm,. all these things normally happens in vatika or paittika prakriti. is above is true, write ma i'll say what d to do. regards Dr. Anurag Singh MD(Ayu) Bhopal(MP) India
Guest guest
It seems to me she might be eating too often. The body should normally wait at least 4 hours between meals. I think you are feeding her before the body can digest the last meal. It might be tough to start out but I would gradually lengthen the time between feedings and most important; Stick to your timetable. GB _______ My 5 yr old girl does not eat well.
