Guest guest
Cholestrol is not at all difficult to control. One can control it by just eating raw garlic pod. Just one pod if it is chewed, more than one if it is pounded or cut and swallowed. One should never overdo anything. Cinnamon and honey also reduce cholestrol as well as high BP, sugar etc. Pls Note: This is my private view it is not a medical advice. ________________________________ how to reduce cholestrol using ayurveda ?? Guest guest
Malhotraji, Hari Om ! Respected Mridulaji has given you a perfect solution but I want you to understand the basic principle. Cholesterol is a fat soluble steroid. In fact, it is the most abundant steroid in the body. Far from being harmful, when properly regulated, it is a critically important molecule, essential in the formation of a number of key compounds, including: * Vitamin D * Progesterone * Estrogen * Testosterone * And adrenaline It is also essential in the formation of every cell membrane in your body, not to mention the fact that your brain is mostly made up of cholesterol -- much of it in the myelin sheaths that insulate nerve cells and in the synapses that transmit nerve impulses. As a fat soluble molecule, cholesterol cannot easily be carried in the blood -- a water based medium. Therefore, the body converts cholesterol into water-soluble molecules known as lipoproteins so it can be transported. Lipoproteins are composed of an outer shell made from a phospholipid which renders the particle soluble in water, a core of fats (lipids) including cholesterol, and a surface protein molecule (apolipoprotein) that allows tissues to recognize and take up the particle. Lipoproteins are characterized by their density: high density lipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL), very low density lipoprotein (VLDL). In simple terms, HDL lipoproteins are good for you. LDL lipoproteins " theoretically " promote arterial build up and are bad for you. Diet accounts for about 25% of the cholesterol levels in your body. Your liver synthesizes about the same amount, and the rest is synthesized in organs such as the intestines, the adrenals, and the reproductive organs. Obviously, trying to control cholesterol levels by solely changing diet will be effective only if levels are slightly out of whack. Although keep in mind, controlling diet is not just a question of regulating the cholesterol or fats that you eat; it is also a question of the soluble fiber (such as oat bran and psyllium husks) that you eat and which absorbs cholesterol and carries it out with your feces so that it never enters your bloodstream. Your liver not only manufactures and secretes LDL cholesterol into the bloodstream; it also " down regulates " or removes LDL cholesterol from the bloodstream. In general terms, your liver oxidizes the cholesterol into a variety of bile acids which are then " pulled into the liver, " carried into the bile ducts, and then on out through the intestines. As a side note, if the cholesterol becomes too concentrated in the bile and sits too long in the gallbladder, it can crystallize and form gallstones. In any case, that's the general description of the cholesterol removal process. A healthy liver has a large number of active LDL receptor sites sitting on the surface of all the liver cells. When present and functioning properly, these receptor sites are associated with the rapid removal of LDL cholesterol from the blood -- and consequentially low blood LDL cholesterol levels. For diabetes, diet restriction & light exercise like walking is a must as this controls the sugar level. Try to avoid, always, following fruits and vegetables : dry fruits, mango, raisins (kishmish), potatoes, jackfruit (kathal), carrots (gajar), peas (matter), beans, sweet potato (shakarkand) & beetroot (chukandar). Milk & nuts intake to be restricted to the minimum whereas have plenty of curds and buttermilk. Avoid all refined foods & sweets and drink 10-12 glasses of water daily. First step : stop worrying…………. There are few natural ways by which Diabetics can be cured : 1. Keep a small pinch of Turmeric powder to a glass of drinking water at night and drink it in the morning after breakfast . As turmeric powder is one of the best antibiotic from nature it can control Blood sugar. Drinking twice in a day is more effective. 2. Take two Ladies finger (Vendakaka) Vegetable and cut and remove both ends , then make a small cut in the middle. Put it in a glass of drinking water, keep it and remove the ladies finger (Vendakka ) in the morning from water and drink the same water before breakfast. Continuously if it is used for 3 months you can see the miracle of controlling and curing of Diabetics and if you have Kidney stone problem it can be also cured. 3. Take 2 grams of Cinnamon (Dalchini) and eat it and drink little water daily after breakfast and at night after supper. It can control the blood sugar ( it is a popular herbal and spice available in the kitchen). 4. Eat daily 10 fresh curry leaves ( Kariveppila or sweet neem) at every morning. It can control and cure Diabetics & can even reduce obesity and digestive problems. It is always available in kitchen. It is said to prevent diabetes due to heredity factors, too. with best wishes, Swami Brahmavidyananda Saraswati A Sannyasi from Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India _________________ how to reduce cholestrol using ayurveda ?? Guest guest
There are many ways to reduce elevated Cholesterol levels using Ayurveda. First is to make sure to avoid foods that are fried, oily, heavy or overly-sweet, as these will aggravate the doshic imbalance further. Take more foods that are bitter, astringent, (like leafy greens, spinach, salads etc). A general increase in the use of fresh cracked black pepper in the diet will be useful. You may also take 1/2 teaspoon black pepper with warm water before/with each meal. If you have ginger/cumin/cinnamon powders, you can make a mixture using equal parts, and take 1/2-1 teaspoon of this, dissolved in warm water, with your meals. You may put these in capsules to take with meals if you cannot take the heat, although it is better to taste it. Try to take foods that are light rather than heavy. Especially with Spring here now, it is best to concentrate on the fresh greens that are in season. Fresh juice made from greens is good for the blood also, as is fresh wheat grass juice. Aloe vera juice taken three times daily will lower cholesterol levels, as will Triphala, the famous 3-fruit medication, taken with each meal. Take the time before you eat to give Thanks. Take 3-4 deep but relaxed breaths before you eat. Look at your food and ask yourself if this is really something that will help you or harm you. We all know, but, so many times, it is easier to go for fast food or otherwise unhealthy food. Take the time to make your own food, and know that you are honoring your body while you are cooking the food. Be aware that you are nourishing your body as you cook, and you will be able to establish a relationship with your food this way. Once you can establish this relationship with your food, or practicing mindfulness when you eat, then changes in the diet become effortless. The herb of choice is whole powder of the bark of the Arjun tree, or simply " Arjuna or Arjun " . You can find a very effective tea made from Arjun, get it in caps, and even get the fresh juice by a simple search online. A lot of research points to Co-Enzyme Q-10 for Blood Pressure or Cholesterol problems. Garlic and Flax seed oil are also good for the blood. Flaxseed is the only vegetarian source of Omega-3 fatty acids, but you may get them from fish as well. At least 10 minutes of meditation each morning is very helpful. If you can extend it, that is OK. However, taking time to relax and spend some time in Nature or in meditation each day goes a very long way for not only health of the cardiovascular system, but for Ojas, and the body overall. There are more remedies such as Pranayam and Yoga. Perhaps someone else can expound on these topics as applied to Cardiovascular health. I hope this helps you! ______________________ how to reduce cholestrol using ayurveda ??
