Guest guest
Are there any contra-indications for PK treatments? What if someone has a very severe adverse drug reaction to a prescribed med and is suffering severe CNS symptoms as well as digestive and joints issues? One thing I don't quite understand, would not PK put additional stress on the liver? Thanks Kooky
Guest guest
Dear Kooky, All Pk treatments have indications and contraindications also, but a good Ayurvedic practitioner knows them all very well and he would indicate the right treatment for the right person. If Pk is done the correct way it would never put any additional stress on any organ, including liver. For the ailments you mentioned you can have ayurvedic treatment, and pk if necessary. All you need is a good Ayurvedic doctor. Dr Andreea Dragomirescu ____________________________ Are there any contra-indications for PK treatments? Guest guest
This is what happened here: I know someone who just had a terrible adverse reaction to a fluoroquinolones antibiotic. She was hallucinating, anxiety, depression, and this cause some damage to her occipital part of the brain, which I know she will recover from. All this is reversible but will take a long time. This Fq antibiotic also causes multiple systemic damage and can be long lasting, or fatal. It is a chemoprophylactic which means it kills many cells and can produce symptoms similar to those who are on chemo. I am not sure is pk is too soon for her at this time. what do you think? The fact is when this type of adverse reaction occurs, it shows causes damage to detox liver pathways, including CYPs, acetylation etc... If the liver is NOT functioning as well as kidneys, lympathic system, how can detoxing help? Many who are in this situation worsens when detoxing, and in severe cases have died. This is why I asked the question, can PK be too demanding for some, and are there any contraindications. If the system is overloaded with free radicals, and detoxification pathways are not working, is PK not contraindicated? Thanks, Kooky > One thing I don't quite understand, would not PK put > additional stress on the liver?
Guest guest
Dear Mr. Kooky, Panchkarma treatment is a procedural treatment of Ayurved. Indications and contraindications are very well described in the text and Physician has to follow this strictly. One should not apply procedure to the patient who's disease is contraindicated and the condition is contraindicated.Panchkarma is it self is a detoxification and cleansing therapy. One should consult proper and well experienced Panchkarma Physician. One should not consult therapist or massagist. One should consult Panchkarma specialist. Regards. Thanks.
