Vamana (therapeutic vomiting) is the quite essential treatment for kapha.

However, it is not used extensively in the West because both patients and

ayurvedic practitioners are reluctant to embrace the practice.

 

What are the alternatives for treating kapha, specifically cleansing the

stomach?

well

 

alternately u can go on a fast with intake of foods like

pappaya, etc which will not increase kapha. apart from that use a decoction

made from Beheda [terminalia bellerica], arjuna [terminalia cuneata] and

jyeshtamadha g. glabra] 2:2:1 proportion. morning evening

 

you can do this for 7 days and at the end of it u can use a mild laxative

like nishottar to cleanse.

 

this effectively cleanse kapha and also pitta

 

 

diet selection is important and must be done at specific times

My suggestion is to take triphala and drink fennel and anise seed tea.

Works great at cleansing the stomach, and clearing ama.
