Guest guest
Yer right about the Tea Tree Oil. It needs to be cut 10 to 1. The best oil to cut it with is Jojoba Oil. = 10 parts Jojoba to 1 part Tea Tree by volume. Guest guest
Niki, what worked for my girls is a bath with a couple of tablespoons of baking soda, and then calamine lotion. What made it more fun was letting them use paint brushes to " paint " each other with the lotion. They were giggling and covered in pink spots! Tea tree oil may help as well, but I'm not certain it should be applied directly to the skin of the young ones. Good luck Wendy
Guest guest
This crap about the chicken pox vaccine really gets my goat. Of all the stupid things they came up with...this has to be at the top of the list. First of all...I've never known for the chicken pox to be a national dilemma. It's a childhood disease, period. Kids get it and 99.99% of the time, they recover without any complications. The only complication I've really seen was an infected pock, which was due to the scratching and not the disease itself. The school nurse called me one day asking why I didn't fill out the chicken pox vaccine info on the medical record form. " Because she had them when she was 7 " . " Do you have proof? " . Now how do you provide proof of the chicken pox. Really. Ask her. She had them. In great disbelief, she exclaims " Didn't you take her to the doctors????? " Ugh. Moron. If you actually become exposed to and acquire an immunity to the chicken pox, you *probably* don't have to worry about it ever again. If you get your child vaccinated against them when they are young, never REALLY being exposed to them, never REALLY becoming immune, they will need to remember to get a booster every ten years for the rest of their lives. Do you hope they remember when they are thirty they need a shot? In my opinion, this vaccine is a disgrace (among all other vaccines). 20 years from now, when there's an explosion of adult chicken pox or shingles, they're gonna all say " Duh, what were we thinking? " The school nurse also kept bugging me about the hepatitis B shot. Last I heard, there weren't very many school aged children running around with hepatitis. She was literally harrassing me. Finally one day, one of my coworkers answered the phone " Oh, Kim's not in today, she's out with hepatitis " LOL. I think she got the hint. Guest guest
If you have a great concern about vaccinations, there are many sites that can give you information. I found once I got " religion " (religious medical exemption) I felt I had more control over my child's healthcare. I am not blind to the fact that a child's heart condition is a VERY serious condition, and depending upon what it is, you have great trust in you doctor. There are many good doctors and many good reasons to use allopathic healthcare. Vaccinations depress the immune system, although you did not ask, may I kindly suggest that you supplement your son's diet with immune building supplements , vitamins and herbs such as colostrum , vitamin C and for the heart, Hawthorne. Melissa has been shown to speed healing of the lesions, especially when taken at the first signs of an outbreak. Topical formulations of melissa have been recommended for treating shingles which is actually a reactivation of the chickenpox virus. Shingles is caused by a relative to the herpes simplex virus: herpes zoster. Forms: tincture, ointment, dried herb/tea, cream Special tip: --To be effective for fighting chickenpox and other lesions caused by the herpes simplex virus, you need to use a cream-based product containing a concentrated extract of melissa. In Germany, the melissa cream/ointment is sold under the name Lomaherpan; in the United States it can be found under various names, such as Herpalieve and Herpilyn. Make a tea from dried melissa. To prepare the tea, use 1 to 2 teaspoons of the herb for each 8-ounce cup of hot but not boiling water. Cover the tea and let it steep for 10 to 20 minutes to get the medicinal benefits. Drink the tea throughout the day as needed.
Guest guest
Dear Kelly, Please remember that children have been getting chickenpox for centuries and usually require no treatment. It is usually a fairly mild disease for children. I would recommend that you and your child both take liberal amounts of vitamin C throughout the illness. I think that you should consider taking some every hour or so. If you do that, hopefully it will be mild and short lived. If you give the body the natural nutrients it needs to fight, it almost always does so easily. It is understanding that the body can use huge amounts of nutrients (especially vitamin C) during an illness. Most people err by not giving enough to do the job. Also they need general overall good nutrition to make sure that all of the needed cofactors are there to make sure that all system are working at top effeciency. Vitamin C is antiviral as well as somethiing that will rev up the immune system. It will also strengthen the whole body so that it is protected. Believe me it is strong enough to do the job if the person will take enough. It is documented to cure many viral and bacterial diseases. It was used by Dr. Klenner to cure severe polio cases in the 1930's and 1940's. If it can do that chicken pox should be much easier. The body will fight off the virus usually without too much trouble. Please educate yourself about vitamin C from our links page. good luck, Frank , " Kelly " <parnham@w...> wrote: > Hello, > > I think my son (15 months) and I have just caught Chicken Pox. Guest guest
Hi, Kelly. Here is a little more about chicken pox treatment: " How should I treat my toddler's chicken pox? " " While she's recuperating, she'll appreciate anything you can do to relieve the itching. Give her a cool bath every three to four hours, and mix 4 tablespoons of baking soda with the bath water. Oatmeal baths are soothing, too. Kathi Kemper, author of The Holistic Pediatrician, recommends taking a double handful of plain, dry oatmeal, putting it into an old stocking or pillowcase (to make clean- up easier), tying off the end, and adding it to the bathtub. If you don't want to deal with the mess of regular oats, you can also get oatmeal bath preparations at the drugstore. After the bath, put calamine lotion on the itchy spots. Keep your child's nails cut short. It may seem like an impossible task, but try to keep her from picking and scratching her sores, which can slow the healing process. Sores that aren't allowed to heal can leave scars or lead to skin infections such as impetigo. " Best wishes, Elliot , " Kelly " <parnham@w...> wrote: > Hello, > > I think my son (15 months) and I have just caught Chicken Pox. Guest guest
Hi, After the chickenpox, it leaves a bad cough for a long time for many. Pulsatilla (Homeo) is a specific to ward off remnant ill effects of chicken pox. It is also known that the virus remains dormant in the body transformed as Herpes HSV, & may show up many years later. There is no easy solution for HSV. I know I am not convincing. Many will come hard on me & raise my BP. ========================================== Dee Harris wrote: > Add in a little aloe Vera and you can be sure that there won't be any scarring. > > Eman <emano70 wrote: My daughter has chicken pox and I have been boiling neem leaves and pouring the water over her after a bath. Guest guest
Hello You may start her with a preparation called paripathadi kadha (kwath) right away. 2 tsf twice daily with water. If not available, start her with Guduchi satva or powder or a tablet called samsamani vati, for the time being. Get her examined by a Vaidya earliest, to find out exact dosha imbalance and appropriate complete treatment plan. Guest guest
Hello, My 4 year old daughter has got chicken pox. The doctor here gave her an antiviral medicine (now it is available for chicken pox) and some anti allergy for the itchy feeling. She has got lots of blisters all over her body and in all possible areas. Unfortunately, I did n't give her chicken pox vaccination. That must be the reason why she has got so much of them. I would like to know , how to take care of her in an ayurvedic way ? How many days will it take for her to completely get cured? What should be her diet. Also, what do I need to do for the spots , now to stop scratching and later for the marks. Thank you so much. Regards, Sraboni
Guest guest
Your daughter was very lucky for avoiding chicken pox vaccination, completely unnecessary. Even medication has side effects and is not exactly necessary also. Light diet without meat, avoiding excess of diary products ,white sugar and fats, many vegetables, natural cereals and fruits, fruit and vegetable juices would be a very good diet for her. She should eat according to her appetite, even if it is less.Stinging nettle tea is depurative and antiviral and will help a lot ( 300-500 ml per day, even instead of water, for 10 days) and externally any preparation with mint or menthol, they are available in drug stores. Within 2 weeks she will be cured completely. Dr Andreea Dragomirescu _____________________ My 4 year old daughter has got chicken pox. ... Unfortunately, I did n't give her chicken pox vaccination.
