The bunches are often hung in kitchen. Onions are never stored in fridge, but in baskets which have spaces for air circulation. It seems that unless onions, garlic are able to breath, they sprout soon and no more usable. In child hood author used to wonder why the bunches are hung in kitchen or storage rooms?
