Guest guest
Hello All: Based on my experience, I feel the urge to share what I have learnt about the spiritual connection to our illnesses and their remedies. Ayurveda says that a disease first originates in the mind, then the thought is acted upon, and later the action is met with the reaction in form of the disease. So, almost every disease is a reaction to an action in the past. Now, how the diseases originate in the body has another spiritual connection to it. If you have an open mind, you may like to to the ideas posted on the website, http://www.spiritualresearchfoundation.org. When I started pursuing an Ayurvedic lifestyle and ayurvedic cures for my illnesses, I came across a host of people who could not get cured of their illnesses. While many of them did not have access to a good Vaidya, many, as the Ayurveda says, did not complete their karmic obligation that was manifested in the form of the disease. On the other hand, we come across people, as mentioned on the website above, who got cured just chanting the names of a deity! Or, who visited a holy place and felt better. Or, who performed a yagya to get blessings from God and the benediction that they received was the cure for their illness. Or, that their spiritual practice charismatically cured them. Or, that a ghostbuster expelled the ghost and the disease was gone in a jiffy! Or, that reliving a past life event during a past life regression therapy session gave almost immediate relief from the symptoms... Then there are healers who claim to heal your mental, psychic, or karmic body from a distance. Many people have success curing their illnesses using distant healers. These healers also proclaim to expell negative energies from your body. All of these point to a " spiritual dimension " to illnesses and their healing. During my search for a cure to my schizophrenia (mental ailments have less of a physical aspect to them, is what I learnt), I came across a plethora of such spiritual modes of healing. I also had a few physical symptoms that had nothing to do with Schizophrenia got eliminated in the process. So, even many physical illnesses can also come from a spiritual source. The website mentioned above talks about different medicinal systems as well and their level of effectiveness. It does put Ayurveda at the top amongst Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Accupuncture/pressure, and Allopathy and mentions that Ayurveda is capable of healing at the spiritual level. I just thought that those who are yearning for a cure despite having visited clinics, vaidyas and ashrams, may find solace and eventually a cure if they pursue these " spiritual " and " odd' looking modalities of treatment. They may not just get cured of a particular illness, but also find more that a soul longs for -- peace, happiness, faith, hope, etc. What you have to be cautious about is that you must learn about each one of them before trying them out or you will be wasting your money (as some of them do have price tags). A spiritual practice, whichever path you choose to pursue, is certainly free of cost, and is the best option of all, IMHO. Guest guest
Hi Matt… Great article, and a great site also… Thanks… I am a retired Ayurveda specialist living in Californian… I watch my mother die of cancer after 7 years of suffering, and that's what started me looking for answers to this subject… About 10 years ago my low back went south for good and I tried everything… I resorted to what I thought was my last option and got a back operation… It helped but only about 30%… Most of the problem is from poor labor practices when I was young and stupid… If there is a spiritual component to it, I hope to find out soon… I thought maybe I wouldn't find out about it until I was dead, but I am hoping for an answer in a lucid dream… I am new at it, but it's quite exciting for a person who is physically limited… They said it is a great tool to get in touch with your soul and contact people who are more spiritually evolved… Thanks again for your input… Noel
Guest guest
Dear Matt, Sai Ram. Pronounced as Saayee Raam, it is a greeting, a mantra and a blessing too. I found your post very interesting. I am a Reiki and Spiritual healer and do a lot of distant healing. I myself have many health problems and the few times that I tried to get ayurvedic treatment, it just did not work out! I also studied homeopathy etc. but found that it is better to pay off the karmic debt in this life instead of trying to palliate and or cure the physical ailments. As you rightly mentioned, chanting of divine names or visiting holy places is very effective in healing esp. at spiritual level, which percolates down to mental and physical level as needed. I have benefited a lot from the chanting of divine names and visits to holy places. It has given me a clear perspective of my own mission in life and has given me the strength to bear the karmic burdens in an attitude of gratitude. Blessings to you. Guest guest
Hello Noel: Thanks for the comments. I don't have much experience/knowledge about lucid dreaming, but so far as contacting spiritual guides and helpful spirits who can perhaps shed some light on your back problem, you can ask a healer to do just that. I have personal experience asking helpful spirits my questions. You can get an answer very quickly. Of course, they will charge you for that. If you need recommendations, please let me know.
