Hi Marianne,

My Maria has two UF's now for several years and I am the computer user in

our family so I follow all these threads with respect to any natural way to

shrink them. She is applying natural progesterone cream according to Dr.

John Lee's Book. It seems to me that she feels better and her tumors are

grwoing very sloly.

I t depends on how old you are. It depends on your Dr.

Actually if they are not causing a problem please do not worry as they very

seldom cause cancer

There are at least three lists on that focus on Uterine Fibroids.

You may wish to check these out.

There you may find some comfort in the futrure options of treatment.

If you don't find them -get back to me.

Is there anothe name for Red Root? Is it from a particular type of

Be aware that most allopathic doctors will suggest that if you have large fibroids that you have a hysterectomy. Unless there is evidence of cancer, I would avoid this at all costs. My mom had a huge fibroid (about the size of a small baby) which she had removed, along with her uterous (there were indications of pre-cancerous tissues. It's the first, knee-jerk reaction most allopaths will have, and you need to stand firm about not having the surgery as long as there's no sign of cancer. It's not an easy surgery to recover from, and annoying as heck to lose one's ovaries too, and have to go on hormone therapy.

Best of luck!

One thing I would change, if you haven't already, are the pads and/or tampons your using. Buy all natural ones at the health food store. Commercial pads and tampons are sterilized with mercury and can perpetuate the problem of heavy blood flow.

I haven't had these problems personally, but I do know of a person who did have this problem. When she changed to natural, the blood flow became normal.

I hope this helps you.

Hello all,

I totally agree with you here Mary Ann, although I had never heard about

the mercury in tampons making a flow worse - that doesn't surprise me

though.

I have taken it a step farther and seldom use tampons anymore at all -

only on the last few days if I need to go out. I find that I have less

cramping and pain when NOT using them... I suspect that has something to

do with " blocking the flow " of energy plays into that as well... I am a

stay at home mom so using pads instead of tampons is easier for me than

for someone that might be more active but I suggest sticking to the pads

when at home as much as possible. You can use the all natural pads or

make your own washable ones from flannel or other soft fabric. You

should be able to find some info on that using google.com.

There are also some " keeper cups " that you can purchase (sorry don't

have url at hand right now...). They are reusable and last for ages.

Another good option to tampons with all the bleach and other chemicals

in them.

Peace,

Hi Lisa,

I have read your post and lived your story.

I suffered from fibroids for over 20 years. I had a DNC and they grew back.

I tried the holistic method for several years and that didn't help either.

My cycle was lasting almost 3 weeks and I was anemic (no surprise there). I

changed my eating habits and I ingested all kinds of vitamins. Changed the

tampons to napkins. Then changed to natural napkins. Nothing seemed to

help me.

I decided to have the surgery. It was the best decision of my life. My

recovery time was 4 weeks. I think it was short and easy because

psychologically I was ready for it and knew that I had fought the good

fight. I decided against traditional hormone therapy. My attitude

improved immediately and my sex drive went into over drive. I have been one

happy pain free woman for over 10 years.

Every now and then I get a hotflash. To remedy that I have made myself a

spray with a touch of peppermint that cools the body down and leaves me

feeling refreshed.

Everyone has to make their own decision of course. This is just some input

from someone who chose to go the recommended route after trying many

alternative routes.

I used sea sponges for years. They are reusable. Some people put

dental floss in them for a " string " but I never cared to. You rinse

them out when they get full. If its inconvenient to rinse (like a

public bathroom), you just squeeze them out and reinsert. Clean them at

the end of your period. Sal

Dear Babes,

Namaste.

Please refer Messages 109 and 1627 which give pranic healing

protocols for fibroids.

You will need to login to and type " fibroids " in

the Search Archive box or type in the message number in the message

number box to get to the message. The first option is the one I

normally go for before posting a request. This way, we can find lots

of interesting information about the ailment which will prove very

helpful. However, this approach may not work 100% when the patient

has multiple ailments or if the ailment has not been medically

diagnosed. In such cases, it would be advisable to scan the patient

to evaluate the condition of all chakras and organs and report your

findings alongwith your query. This would help Marilette in providing

a more comprehensive protocol and would be more helpful to the

patient too. In order to monitor the condition of all major and minor

chakras and organs of patients, I have, during my initial days,

prepared a Patient Scan Form in tabular format (Microsoft Word) which

I could email it to you, if you wish. This helps in future monitoring

of the conditions of the chakras and organs, after a few healing

sessions, which in turn would give us a clue on the right application

of the protocol.

I have fibroids.  Mine shrank considerably when I began taking a mixture of flax seed oil and cottage cheese (FSO/CC). It also virtually cured me of continual back spasms.

My husband had precancerous prostate cells.  He began the FSO/CC for prevention and/or to keep the cancer from growing.  I began eating it with him for moral support and to work with recipes to make it taste better. My understanding is that the common element in cancer, fibroids, and back spasms is inflammation.  I'm certainly no authority on this. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have with regard to our experience but the real experts are on the FlaxSeedOil2 board.  To send a blank email to FlaxSeedOil2- >. Hope this helps, Alicia

fibroids can be removed within a short time through reiki. you can take reiki treatment. i have been working for a long time on harmful energies and feel this is your and your husband`s case. one of the ways i follow for all round peace, better health & prosperity which is basically asking for forgiveness. i am from india. so many westerners do not believe in past births but no harm in trying a declaration. in my eyes it is etheric substance in your case or evil energy which needs to be driven out. the same could be the case with your husband. i have seen cancer death-bed patients cured 100% within 20/25 days through reiki healing along with forgiveness system. presently i am not giving reiki. i am sending you the system along with 2 writeup which may benefit you a lot. you are free to share it with others. i have only been permitted only 7 days ago by my angels to make it public. i pray to god to give you the required healing.if others share with me the results i may fine tune the system. you should see the result within 7/10 days.

Kim,

You might want to look into folic acid! I had a hysterectomy years back and

after the fact research kept on coming back with lack of folic acid and therapy

may have changed the results. You might also want to get Precription for

Nutritional Healing by Balch and Balch.

Hi Kim,

I have the fibroids. They wanted to do a hysterectomy on me as well. After alot

of research, I found that if you had them removed, they just grow back again. As

long as they are not effecting your bladder or any other organ, they are just a

pain, but they shrink after menopause. I totalling changed my diet, started

walking each day, and it made a huge difference. I stay away from all dairy

products, and stay away from all soy products. I've lost 17 lbs in the process

and that makes a difference in terms of the estrogen in your system. I got most

of this information from Dr. Lees book as well as some others.

Hi Kim,

There is a called uterinefibroids which is excellent. It

is moderated by Carla Dion who has written a very good book on the

subject, and is the head of the uterine fibroids association in the

United States. The group has about 2,000 members and has been going

for quite a few years now.

The group takes the position that most hysterectomies are totally

unnecessary. It looks at the position of the fibroids and the details

relevant to the woman who has them, in terms of the appropriate

treatment.

I myself had a myomectomy, which is removal of the fibroids only,

leaving the uterus intact. As you said, fibroids do shrink upon upon

menopause as they are estrogen-fed. Each woman's situation is unique.

The uterinefibroids group is very assertive in terms of getting a

number of different opinions from a number of doctors and women

taking the reins in their own health care. They will help you a lot.

Good luck.

Hello

Fibroids with pregnancy? Rather tricky situation here. We have

successfully treated a few nonpregnant patients with fibroid. Surgery could

be avoided with reduction in size of firbroid with resolution of symptoms.

Ages varied from 30 to 55. Mostly pitta vitiation was found. Main symptoms

were bleeding (menorrhagia), and pain. Treatment with Basti really

helped. Some say that fibroids are mamsa-dhatu vruddhi. Herbs such as

guggulu can be used to treat mamsa dhatu, but you must watch for pitta

(guggulu may increase pitta). Combination of Nimba patol triphala musta

and kutaj may help as this combination is used to normalize mamsadhatu.

Hi Betsy -

You might want to check with the methods used by practioners trained by Jyoti

Miller, which include flower essences around the emotional cause and essential

oils with the conventional castor oil belly packs that otherwise are slower than

molasses in winter. We are advised to avoid castor oil in pregnancy internally,

I do not know topically probably also the case.

My friend Nancy Phillips (http://www.ayurvedicbalance.com/) trained there and

would probably be available for consult, she has had some good success with

these (if non preg) methods I haven't seen used by other schools of Ayurveda in

this country. She has been doing much advanced study also with Dr. Ramakant

Mishra the last year or more, and is a very good practitioner (Chicago based).

Some of the herb preps Dr. Thite so kindly and quickly responded with I don't

believe are available to you/us in the states though we do have the guggulu. It

would require for sure guidance by someone experienced, not just advice over the

internet.

Jyoti's/Nancy's therapy also includes of large gentle/slow client paced rectal

administration called Colema of 5 gal of triphala tea (made from whole fruits of

the three ingredients) which has to be avoided if pregnant. Followed by 1/2 cup

warm sesame oil basti to restore oleation balance/lubrication to the colon

cells.

If pregnant there are essential oils which would be safe to use for the pain,

Baby!, inflammation, and other symptoms but what I hear is pregnant fibroids

usually have to wait till after the birth. Most practitoners I know of at other

times advise large ones be surgically removed and then address the causes

naturally.

Dr. Lad's Ayurvedic Perspectives on selected Pathologies has an excellent

article on pain, and I would be surprised if there wasn't a reprint availaable

on the fibroids subject, from the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque. You could

go to their website or call to enquire. You will find many discussions and

advice from vaidyas by searching the post archives for fibroid at

http://health.ayurveda/

Wishing her the best guidance and blessings!

Hello,

If she is 8 months complete, I feel basti can be safely given (basti is

routinely given by us during 9th month). Basti works on apana vata which

also facilitates the process of labor- normal function of apana. Oil basti

smoothens and nourishes the pelvic, vaginal, and uterine muscles, leading to

a smooth labor process. During earlier months of pregnancy basti is not

advised because it may hasten the labor immaturely. But during 9th month,

basti helps in engaging the infant and eventually paves way for the natural

labor.

<It would require for sure guidance by someone experienced, not just advice

Yes she certainly needs such guidance.

Dr. Thite,

would be to lessen pain?

Hello Dr. Thite and Ysha,

Thank you both so very much for this information. I will look for an

experienced practitioner of ayurvedic medicine to direct this mother

too.

Thanks again for imparting such medicinal wisdom!

Hello,

Pain suggests obstructions to vata movement which is obvious. (During ninth

month the uterus is stretched to its limits and it prepares itself to bring

the baby down and I imagin that the fibroids would be obstructing that

process.

If she has typical vata excess/obstruction, I would give plain sesame oil 50

ml with a pinch of rock salt daily for two to three days as a general

measure. Specifics may differ, i.e., after seeing the patient and detailed

history taking, one may have differnce of opinion. E.g. suppose one finds

she has excess of kapha, oil basti may not be advised.

The herb combinations should be interpreted as per ayurvedic terms. The

combination should match the condition as best as possible. E.g. herb bala

is very sticky (picchila) but cool in property hence it can be used for vata

with Ruksha (dry) and Khara(rough?) property. Ashwagandha is little hot but

excellent anti-vata and nourishing herb.

Namaste,

The first thing that comes to mind, is to start castor oil packs on your abdomen.

Get off bottled water, because the plastic has a lot of estrogen.

Drink organic raspberry tea.

I'll get back to you with a few more suggestions, have to run to work!

My OB/GYN says my best option is to have a hysterectomy. A large fibroid in my uterus is causing excessive bleeding,I am now severely anemic, she says it is not a good idea to experiment with other approaches that may or may not help because of my anemia. I have been taking iron pills twice a day since May but I cannot keep up with the loss that happens every month (or more often). Any ideas out there on how to reduce or get rid of fibroids?Alma---
