Hello All,

What is the benefit of drinking a glass of water(at room temperature) with a

spoon of honey in empty stomach in morning right after waking up from bed?

Please give some cautions, i mean the case in which it should be avoided like,

if somebody has pitta problems etc.

Thanks and Regards,

leo

Yes. Check: elimination improves in a week; increased hunger at breakfast. allow

45 minutes between honey mixed water and breakfast.

Ensure you take raw, unprocessed honey. an article on honey may be read at:

Some one had mentioned in the past in this forum that honey if taken with hot

water weight reduces and if taken with cold water, weight increases. Please

enlighten me.

Ayurveda is more complex than this statement suggests!

Honey causes weight loss for some only if

HOney is old and taken with warm water+lemon juice mixture in the manner

suggested in Post#1696

On the other hand it causes weight gain for babies, if mixed in the milk, in

manner suggested in post#14613

With room temperature water, without lemon, honey is just a mild laxative aid

acting as electrolyte, if taken empty stomach in morning. Moreover, ratio of

honey to water is also important!

Action of lemon and milk on fat/ama deposits is opposite. With lemon, while some

may loose only ama, some may loose fat too! Lemon creates a soap like film

around deposits, which dislodges them from the tissues. Just like detergent

acting on sticky cooking vessels.

Ayurveda does not have rigid theorems or lemmas. Each individual responds

according to his prakruti/vikruti. Many exceptions have been already posted in

archives.
