Computer and laziness

Respected members.

This is a personal question but I think it might be of interest for many.

I work as a mechanical draftsman, using a 3D CAD system.

It means I stay several hours of the day in front a computer, thinking

and making my drawings.

After my working day, I feel mentally very tired, I just want to rest/sleep,

feel like doing nothing, and very lazy. Sometimes I feel like eating something

out of meal or even to have some " satisfaction " , even though I know that, like

this, is very easy to gain weight with all the related problems.

I try to do some movement (walking or some sport) to counteract these feelings.

I know other people doing the same job and, more or less, they have the same

problem.

Has anyone of you met the same situation and has maybe something to suggest?

What Ayurveda has to say about it?

Thank you very much!

Armando

Taking breaks to do some yoga, stretching or pranayams (breathing) a couple

times a day would be helpful. Get the blood flowing and the oxygen fueling the

cells.  Any form of exercise you enjoy would get your body out of its sitting

slump - followed by a meditation or relaxation (especially of the mind - clear

the head of all the thinking).  Get outside - it's gorgeous in Italy!

Keeping healthy foods -living foods -around - avoid the carb, sugar, processed

easy to grab out of a drawer snack.

This is a growing problem in our obvious computer culture - have heard of great

success with companies implementing office breathing breaks, yoga or meditation

time.  Just take a " smoke " break - stop what your doing go somewhere quiet and

breath for a few minutes.  Feel blessed to be alive!

From my own experience, If you take a break for a few minutes, and do ATBSNR

exercises for three to five minutes, you can come out fresh like a flower.. More

Greetings Armando!

Of course you feel tired and worn out, and may crave sweet after a full day in

front of so much EMF's!

I suggest to read some articles written by Vaidya R.K. Mishra at:

www.vaidyamishra.com, he has some very good ones on Prana.

'Indravaajravijanya' (EMF) is considered the worse of the 4 kinds of ama, and

was written about in the ancient text Charaka Samita (in the form of repeated

and close lightning strikes during monsoon season). I see a lot of clients

deeply affected by working in front of computer all day.

EMF's corrupt our vibratory channels, which is like ruining the cord on your

computer, blocking our ability to take in Prana (the electro-magnetic energy of

nature). This and because our world has become so acidic, everyone is

chronically deficiant in the cooling, nurturing part of prana called soma....one

reason people crave soma predominant sweet taste (but take in the wrong kind).

There are things you can do to counteract the effects of so much EMF...nature is

always the best remedy, the texts recommend walking in moonlight, lying and

walking barefoot on good earth, looking and being around bodies of water, and

best of all hugging, or at least leaning up against a good, big healthy tree, to

refresh and recharge your soma, all fun and free.

As for the computer room, we recommend always wrapping in a silk or wool shawl

while in front of a computer screen. Harder for men! but it may be possible to

wear silk undershirt or shirt, or wool jacket or sweater. Silk has its own

electro-magnetic field and wool super insulates. Plants in your workspace can

help. Stay away from nightshades, they shrink those channels, and soy.

Vaidya Mishra has some transdermal creams, and specific delivery method of herbs

that help a lot to target this issue. EMF's are a big contributing factor to the

epidemic of such conditions as Parkinsons, MS etc...and now, we all have hi def

tvs, and soon, they want to make electricity itself wifi...no more having to

plug stuff in!

Good luck Armando, please feel free to email me if you are interested in any

more hints along these lines, or have questions.

All Best,

Nancy
