Dear Mr. Acharya

Your friend said that he had tried everything including ayurveda.

Ayurveda has a therapeutic approach called Viparitharthakari Chikitsa (producing

the opposite effect though not actually opposite).

In this case the " ice cream approach " will be included in this therapeutic

category.

For those who whish to verify my statement please refer to the book " Doctrines

of Pathology in Ayurveda " by Prof. K.R.SRIKANTHA MURTHY (Formerly Principal,

Govt. Colege of Indian medicine Banalore and Member, State Advisory Commitee on

India Medicine Karnataka State).

You'll find the relevant info in Chapter 12 - Upasaya and Anupasaya, differences

between upasaya and Chikitsa.

I hope this can be useful.

When we were young our mind was diverted. We cotinued doing this even when we

were raising a family and each time it worked. for Hiccoughs.  this is for

common everyday hiccups.

But sometimes it is of a serious nature a known person died because his hicoughs

would stop.
