Guest guest
May be due to heat in the body. You can apply pure ghee on the lips. Alternatively, give a glass of warm milk mixed with one spoon ghee at bed time for 3 to 4 days. This will bring out the heat from the body. You will have to melt the ghee also to mix in milk. _____________ I have a baby boy who is 3 months old and his lips crack.

Guest guest
Swamiji, Would you kindly explain this remedy for us students of Ayurveda? Is it in support of agni in some unusual way? I like the simplicity and connectedness of this! Guest guest
Mr . Gopala . As it has been suggested that the cracked lip should be due to increased heat in the body of your baby boy . There is also one suggestion to give a glass of warm milk mixed with 1 tsf ghee to the baby boy . In my view , a glass of milk with ghee in a whole day for a baby boy of 3 months old , can't be justified . In such a small age , only mother's milk should be given by breastfeed . Instead , you can apply cow ghee or butter on the lips of the baby boy . Also see , if his mother have cracked nipples . If so , then tell her to apply the same to the nipples . If the baby is having loose motions having dark yellow or green or chocolate colour , then give a simple home remedy . Take 50 ml boiled cooled water . Add raw sugar 1 tea spoon ful to it . You can add 1 tsf of glucose powder too . Mix it thoroughly . And give it to baby 2 tsf at a time . Give the total amount of 50 ml water , in the whole day . _____________ I have a baby boy who is 3 months old and his lips crack.
Guest guest
hare krishna Thanks for all your answers. I have tried to apply the mustard oil, but so far it has no positive result. Someone has suggested that it may be the result of the boy's licking the lip, as he does it. Only the lower lip cracks. I am still applying the oil on the navel. I did not give the cow's milk knowing that it can't be done ate this age. The baby is only breastfed. Thank you all for helping. yours sincirely Gopala Acarya dasa
Guest guest
I am sorry, I overlooked the age of the child. The mother must be having too much heat in her body. Let she change for satvik food. Avoid much spicy, oily and heat generating food. Through her milk, the child's body will become cool and the cracked lips problem may get solved. I did face similar problem when my son was borne. The ayurvedic doctor gave medicine to my wife and son got cured within two weeks. _______________ I have tried to apply the mustard oil, but so far it has no positive result.
