Guest guest
Dear members, I have read a lot about fresh juice detox. Does anyone have any idea if we can do milk detox i.e. drinking only pure boiled milk for a few days? Perhaps we can add fresh ginger to it? Milk is supposed to contain all the important vitamins and minerals. I am talking about milk of cow in France. Khichari (basmati rice + mung dal + spice) is good during detox. Can we not take rice+milk+ginger? What could be the problem of such a diet during detox? Regards Vibhuti

Guest guest
Actually, many forms of mono-diet (i.e. eating just one thing) cause a detox response. Possibly because it makes digestion easier, allowing Agni (metabolism) to break down Ama (toxin) in the body. This also tells us that when we eat too many different things, it makes it hard on our digestion - causing a buildup of toxin! Milk was previously used in Europe to treat many diseases; until pasteurisation came in force. Pasteurisation denatures the milk proteins and enzymes, so it no longer has the full properties as described in Ayurveda. I would suggest that you use only raw, unpasteurised milk from organically-raised cows. Raw milk contains enzymes that allow the milk to self-digest in the gut - these are not found in pasteurised milk. Also, raw milk encourages beneficial bacteria, which pasteurised milk does not. Drink warmed rather than boiled milk. You can add ginger powder, cardamom, cinnamon, and/or turmeric. You can try the rice/milk mixture and let us know! I used to have that, and found it very digestible. Such a detox would be good for vata and pitta, but not suitable for kapha. Guest guest
detox is to give rest to all the systems specially digestive. milk is heavy for digestion. with sugar becomes still heavier. so out of question. juice detox is not the complete detox. proper detoxification is possible only through elimination procedures of ayurveda. read details on www.ayurgoa.com. - dr. pranav bhagwat VISIT www.ayurgoa.com ____________ I have read a lot about fresh juice detox. Guest guest
Milk detoxification is generally carried out in abdomen related health problems .. Specifically where purgation is required . In Ascitis , jaundice etc . It provides energy and vital components to the body . Throws out the toxins ( Aama ) from the body . Generally milk and rice should not be mixed with each other . It can be hazardous for the health in the long run . It works as opposite food after the mixture is prepared . Milk can be taken with ghee , sugar , dry ginger powder etc . There are very few food items with which we can prepare the mixture of milk . Milk should not be consumed with salt , any sour food or fruit , fish etc .. It may not be suitable all the time . It can generate skin problems generally .. ___________ Does anyone have any idea if we can do milk detox i.e. drinking only pure boiled milk for a few days? Perhaps we can add fresh ginger to it?
