Guest guest
Dear Prabhpreet, It is good that you are controlling the amount you eat, and fantastic that you have cut out fizzy drinks, chips and sweets. Well done! My experience shows that starchy carbohydrates, such as grains, potatoes etc, can also upset weight balance. These cause excessive blood sugar levels, eventually causing insulin resistance which leads to weight gain and diabetes. Reduce or eliminate the sugar in your tea, and/or drink it as a spiced chai tea. You could consider having 1 chapati at lunch, and 1/2 or none at dinner. Instead, increase the sabji and dhal. I have found that people who cut out carbo esp at night start balancing weight in a few months. You could also do a soup fast for 4-5 days, with just green veggie soups for lunch and dinner. You could have some stewed fruits for breakfast and snacks if you get hungry. Sip hot water and herb teas through the day. Make a mixture of ginger powder, black pepper powder and if available, pippali (long pepper) powder; or buy it as Trikatu at an ayurvedic supplier. Take 1/2 tsp in hot water 10-15 min before meals. Do this fast once a month or more often if you wish. In ayurveda, excess weight is considered a problem with ama (toxin) caused by improper digestion. The soup fast will help your digestion strengthen and help your body detoxify. Be careful about the quality of your fat intake. Avoid all hydrogenated or trans-fats, found in margarines and commercial biscuits, cakes, chips etc. Instead take good fats like ghee and/or coconut oil. Raw coconut oil has been found to stimulate the thyroid gland and reduce fat in some people. Proper fat intake will help balance Vata and constipation, and will make your food more enjoyable and satisfying. Do some vigorous activity every single day, especially in the morning. Sun salutations (Surya Namaskara) are particlarly good for increasing metabolism and detoxifying. Work slowly up to a dozen rounds or more. Follow with some digestive asanas such as dhanurasana, ardha matseyandrasana, marjaryasana, and abdominal strengtheners. Finish with bhastrika pranayama and nadi shodhana (a few minutes of each), then relax with shavasana for a few minutes. If you don't know them, get a yoga teacher to show them to you. Guest guest
U stated that ur height is approx 163 cm ( 5'5 " ) with weight 81 kgs . The ideal weight should be upto 63 - 65 kg max . It means that u should lose upto 16 kgs of weight to come to the ideal one . It is good that , u decreased & stopped fizzy drinks , sweets etc . Just follow some change in the food & routine . Curd should be avoided too . All types of sticky foods , preserved foods , sugar content foods should be avoided .. Salty food content should be avoided too . The dinner should be preferably in the early evening like before 7.30 pm everyday . Daily exercise of jogging for 30 min will be best . The dinner should be light enough . _________________ could you plz suggest me a proper diet n lifestyle changes that i can adapt to reduce my weight,
