Guest guest
Hi All, I have just had a saliva cortisol test that showed my cortisol was at the bottom of range all day long. It should be much higher in the morning & then gradually fall during the day. I am taking action in many area of my life to try & rebuild my adrenal glands and I am wondering if you all or Doc have a recommendation from a herbal standpoint? Thanks, Sarah
Guest guest
Hi Victoria, I was reading some 'old' posts, and reading this part of the AF thread, about your grandparents diet, and specifically you say that we can eat a more varied diet than our favourite foods, reminded me of a recommendation of Tibetan Medicine, to the effect of; when you get sick, take a look at your habits, favourite foods, etc, and stop eating them or at least cut them down significantly. -- victoria_dragon <victoria_dragon escreveu: > Before going into more detail on adrenal fatigue, I want to > post > some more about the concept of " missing ingredients " . > .............. >they actually had far better, far healthier, and more varied >diets than many people in the modern world have. Guest guest
The book by Dr James WIlson entitled " Adrenal Fatigue: the 21st century syndrome " is a very useful resource (both lifestyle and nutritional suggestions) for adrenal fatigue. Guest guest
I know all about adrenal fatique--two cases in my family.??My husband went to an endocrinologist because his cortisol was out of whack.? Because he didn't have Addison's disease the doc had no answer and suggested he go to a psychiatrist! ?We said, " No thanks. " ? Western medicine treats diseases, but not chronic diseases.? Especially mental diseases.? Adrenal exhaustion is very under diagnosed. Maybe Ayurveda doesn't address adrenal fatigue directly, but I believe the theory of Ayurveda is to bring the body into balance, not necessarily treat a disease.? The book " Adaptogens " by David Winston addresses the problem of adrenal distress very well.? If you read this book you should be able to help yourself.? I use some western herbs and some Ayurvedic, but like the concept of Ayurvedic lifestyle, especially diet and body oils.? If you continue to eat the wrong food for your body type on a regular basis, you put stress on your body.? Katy
Guest guest
Do believe in simple things they work better than the modern medicine which is there only for the material benefit of the pharma companies. It is a big racket. being healthy is very easy. have a regulated life style and try the easy stuff.it works some time just the salt works. Aloe vera is such a wonderful thing. It is good for many an upset conditions. ___________________ Cortisol is a hormone manufactured by the adrenal glands which is vital to the human body, without it the body dies. In adrenal fatigue the glands are exhausted and do not make enough cortisol, which gives all other bodily chemical imbalances.
Guest guest
Yes, aloe vera is good for pitta digestion and pitta skin disorders. Why should we believe in simple unscientific things with no clinical evidence. So you are suggesting a patient with addison adrenal failure should take aloe vera and benefit? Perhaps, but they will die at the same time! There is NOTHING in aloe vera which benefits the hormonal function of the adrenals and the steroid cascade. I am not referring to allopathic medicine and pharma companies, I am referring to orthomolecular medicine. Sodium works in adrenal fatigue patients because these loose a lot of sodium because of the imbalance of low cortisol affecting the aldosterone mechanism. ______________ Do believe in simple things they work better than the modern medicine which is there only for the material benefit of the pharma companies.
