Dear members,

Many thanks to for replying to my various queries thereby enlightening the less

knowledgeable member.

I would like to know if we can take isabgol (psyllium husk) daily?

Is it advisable to take

- only in the night?

- morning/evening?

Should it be taken

- with water only

- with water + a little suger

- with milk

- with milk + a little suger

- with milk + a pinch of ginger powder?

It is mentioned that isabgol does not create dependency, hence can it be taken

for longer time e.g. six months/ one year? Will it have some adverse effect on

absorption of nutrients (as it will stimulate the intestine to move the digested

food)?

What is the cause of sluggish movement in stomach/intestine? Is it sluggish

liver (Once I had consulted a vaidya, he had told me that my liver was slow)?

Will liver tonic " liverex " from Baidyanath correct liver function, and

consequently the sluggish movement in stomach/intestine?

Regards

Our Intestinal movement should happen naturally. The sluggish movement is

nothing but disturbance of normal peristalsis(Movement in intestine) due to food

or other habits.

You can take Isabgol some times but daily taking will create dependency.

You can try 2 glasses of simple warm water and walking which will stimulate

parasympathetic nervous system which controls peristalsis.

This is my personal experience

Thanks
